The incident occurred in Quang Long commune (Hai Ha district). The suspect stabbed his wife and daughter then used a knife to commit suicide but failed.
Authorities investigate husband stabbing wife
According to initial information, at around 1:30 p.m. on October 15, Hai Ha District Police received information about a fight at the home of Mr. Nguyen Dinh Cuong, in Village 4, Quang Long Commune. When the police arrived at the scene, Mr. Cuong and his wife, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, were in critical condition, with many serious stab wounds.
In addition, the couple's daughter was injured in the arm. All three were taken to the hospital for emergency treatment.
Through verification by the authorities, due to family conflicts, Mr. Cuong used a knife to stab his wife and daughter, then used a knife to commit suicide but failed.
On the afternoon of October 15, Quang Ninh Provincial Police sent a working group to the scene to collect evidence and take statements from witnesses to investigate the incident.
Mr. Nguyen Duy Dung, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Quang Long Commune, said that Mr. Cuong and his wife sold dog meat at Quang Long market. Before the incident, people heard the couple arguing loudly.
