Suspend 2 candidates from taking the 10th grade exam in Hanoi

According to statistics from the Hanoi Department of Education and Training, this morning there were 115,059 candidates taking the 10th grade Literature exam (99.5% rate), 594 of whom were absent.

Of these, 2 candidates violated exam regulations (1 candidate brought a phone into the exam room, 1 candidate brought documents into the exam room).

The total number of exam locations in the city is 201 with 4,477 exam rooms (non-specialized), in addition to 402 backup exam rooms.

The number of officers, teachers and staff present was 15,364 (accounting for 99.97%), 5 supervisors were absent. The absent supervisors at the examination site were replaced by backup teachers, ensuring compliance with examination regulations.

This afternoon, students will take a 60-minute multiple-choice Foreign Language test, starting at 2 p.m. Tomorrow morning, June 11, students will complete their final Math test in 120 minutes, starting at 8 a.m.

Candidates wishing to enter Hanoi - Amsterdam High School, Nguyen Hue High School or Chu Van An High School, Son Tay will take an additional specialized subject exam on June 12.

This year, the whole city of Hanoi has more than 129,000 students graduating from junior high school. Of which, 104,917 candidates registered their first choice to enter public grade 10 (an increase of 1,000 candidates compared to last year), the average competition ratio is 1/1.79. Last year, the competition ratio to enter public grade 10 was 1 to 1.67 on average and in 2021 it is 1 to 1.61. Thus, the competition ratio to enter grade 10 this year is expected to be the highest in the past three years.

Mr. Tran The Cuong, Director of the Department of Education and Training, informed that Hanoi is the locality with the largest number of candidates registering for the 10th grade entrance exam in the country, with more than 116,000 students registering. Hanoi has established 201 exam sites with nearly 5,000 exam rooms in 30 districts, towns and cities to serve candidates.

The city has about 20,000 officials and teachers working in exam supervision and grading. In addition, there are 590 supervisors at exam sites and more than 1,000 police officers and soldiers performing the task of protecting the exam area.
