Authorities are directing the investigation into the case involving the taekwondo coach.
On the afternoon of January 13th, in an interview with Thanh Nien newspaper, Mr. Truong Van Vy, Chairman of Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District, Da Nang City , stated: "This morning (January 13th), the ward's authorities were present at the Seung Ri Taekwondo Club to clarify the contents of the complaint. After the meeting, the Ward People's Committee issued a temporary suspension order for the club's operations." The club will have to cease operations on January 14th.
According to the Chairman of Khue Trung Ward, on the evening of January 9th, NTH's parents went to the Khue Trung Ward People's Committee office to report the behavior of taekwondo club coach Seung Ri. The ward police then invited representatives from the club to come in for questioning. This morning (January 13th), the relevant agencies continued to work with the club's representatives once again.
"The People's Committee of Khue Trung Ward is drawing up a report according to its responsibilities. The police will continue to investigate and clarify the matter. This afternoon (January 13th), we will submit a detailed report on the incident to the People's Committee of Cam Le District," Mr. Vy added.

On the afternoon of January 13th, Mr. Nguyen Van Kin, head coach and chairman of the Seung Ri taekwondo club (located on Ho Nguyen Truong Street, Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District, Da Nang City), went to the Khue Trung Ward Police Station for the second time to give his statement. Previously, Mr. Kin had gone to the police station on the evening of January 9th, following a complaint from a family alleging that a student had been beaten by the head coach at the aforementioned club.
After coach Nguyen Van Kin returned to the Seung Ri taekwondo club (Ho Nguyen Truong Street, Khue Trung Ward, Cam Le District, Da Nang City) from the police station, a reporter from Thanh Nien newspaper was present to speak with him. "After working with the authorities this morning (January 13th), I have reported the incident and provided all relevant qualifications regarding my taekwondo coaching. Because this is a sensitive matter, the People's Committee has decided to temporarily suspend my club's operations until an official conclusion is reached," coach Nguyen Van Kin stated.
According to Coach Nguyen Van Kin, since the club will temporarily cease operations from today (January 13th), he decided to organize a talk to inform parents about the incident that just occurred.
As Thanh Nien newspaper previously reported, on the evening of January 9th, upon picking up his son and discovering signs of abuse, Mr. NTH (residing in Hoa Xuan Ward, Cam Le District, Da Nang City) used his phone to photograph all the marks on his son's body and reported the serious violation of child bodily integrity to the Da Nang city hotline. At the same time, Mr. NTH took his son to the Khue Trung Ward police station for questioning. The Khue Trung Ward police instructed Mr. NTH to take his son to the hospital for examination of the injuries. After the examination, Mr. NTH brought his son back to the Khue Trung Ward police station to provide a detailed statement. In addition, Mr. NTH also provided the phone number of coach Nguyen Van Kin as requested by the police, and the police invited coach Nguyen Van Kin to come in for questioning that same evening, January 9th.
