The prestigious Laver Cup 2025, the world's leading men's team tennis tournament, will take place from September 19th to 21st at the Chase Center in San Francisco, USA. This is the eighth edition of the event since 2017, promising intense competition between the European and world teams.
This year's tournament has somewhat lacked appeal, as neither Novak Djokovic nor Jannik Sinner are participating. The two top world stars need time to rest and recover their fitness ahead of tournaments in China at the end of September.

World number one Carlos Alcaraz will join Alexander Zverev, Holger Rune, Casper Ruud, rising star Jakub Mensik, and Flavio Cobolli in the European team lineup.
The World team boasts a very strong lineup featuring Taylor Fritz, Alex de Minaur, Francisco Cerundolo, Joao Fonseca, Alex Michelsen, and the renowned player known for his thunderous serves, Reilly Opelka.
Coach Yannick Noah (France) replaced legend Bjorn Borg to lead the European team, while Coach Andre Agassi (USA) succeeded John McEnroe in coaching the world team players.
The Laver Cup was established in 2017 and has been held in Prague, Chicago, Geneva, Boston, London, Vancouver, and Berlin. In 2024 in Berlin, the European team won a thrilling 13-11 victory against the World team.
The main highlight in the race for the championship was Alcaraz's victory over Fritz in the decisive match. It was Europe's first title in three years, ending the team's dominance from 2022-2023.
This tournament takes place over 3 days with a total of 12 matches (4 matches each day), and points increase progressively each day. Each win on September 19th counts as 1 point, a win on September 20th as 2 points, and a win on September 21st as 3 points. The team that reaches 13 points first will win the cup; if the two teams are tied after 12 matches, a doubles match will be held to decide the winner.
