On the evening of April 6, in the match between Thanh Hoa Club and Hanoi Club in round 17 of V.League, Ngoc Tan appeared in the A stands of Hang Day Stadium with a cast on his leg and crutches to cheer on his teammates. Before the match started, Thanh Hoa players also held up Ngoc Tan's number 34 shirt when taking a pre-match photo, as a way to encourage their injured captain.

The midfielder of Thanh Hoa Club broke his fibula during a training session. Doctors predict that he will need about two months to recover, which means that the 2024/25 season of the midfielder born in 1994 is considered over.
Not only that, the possibility of participating in the Vietnam national team's training session at the end of May, preparing for the important match against Malaysia in the final qualifying round of the 2027 Asian Cup on June 10 away, also becomes fragile.
"I broke my fibula during training before the match. I didn't need surgery, just a cast," Ngoc Tan told Tri Thuc - ZNews after the match.
Doan Ngoc Tan's injury not only caused Thanh Hoa to have difficulty in midfield during the final stages of the season, it also gave coach Kim Sang-sik and the Vietnamese team a headache.
Despite only being called up to the Vietnam national team for the first time since 2024, Ngoc Tan played an important role in the ASEAN Cup championship campaign. He played 7/8 matches with a total of 481 minutes. The equalizer in the seventh minute of injury time against the Philippines in the group stage was also an unforgettable moment for this midfielder.
Coach Kim Sang-sik, in an interview with Chosun newspaper on March 31, highly appreciated Ngoc Tan, calling him the team's "silent warrior" who always puts the team above the individual. Recently, in the March training session, he played the full 90 minutes in the friendly match that won 2-1 against Cambodia, and was on the bench in the 5-0 victory over Laos in the 2027 Asian Cup qualifiers.
