DNVN - Emirates Airlines recently officially welcomed its first Airbus A350-900 aircraft to its fleet at a special event in Dubai.

Emirates' A350 aircraft boasts three spacious cabin classes, accommodating 312 passengers, including 32 next-generation Business Class seats that recline, 21 Premium Economy seats, and 259 Economy seats with ample space. These latest additions to the aircraft demonstrate the airline's commitment to delivering a premium passenger experience while optimizing operational efficiency. The Emirates A350 is the first new aircraft to join Emirates' fleet since 2008.

His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, Chairman and CEO of Emirates Group, said: "This is a memorable milestone for Emirates as we introduce our first A350 and usher in a new era for the growth of our fleet and route network. This aircraft sets the stage for Emirates to go further by upgrading the range, efficiency and flexibility of our network, allowing us to meet customer needs in new markets and open up new opportunities in the cities where we operate. Onboard, we have updated the interior and seating layout to provide a more comfortable and premium experience for passengers in all classes. 65 Emirates A350s will join our fleet in the coming years, in line with our overall plan and vision to support Dubai's D33 Strategy, which aims to transform the city into a key global economic hub through expanded connectivity." connection and influence.

Philippe Mhun, Executive Vice President of Programs & Services at Airbus, said: "We are proud to further expand our strategic partnership with Emirates, a relationship that has flourished over the past nearly four decades with the A300, A330, A340 and A380 aircraft families. Marking a new chapter for Airbus, we expect the A350 to become an important member of Emirates' fleet and support the airline's sustainability goals and expansion ambitions."

In addition to the newly delivered A350 aircraft, Emirates operates two other aircraft types worldwide to 140 destinations – the wide-body Boeing 777 and the iconic double-decker Airbus A380. The introduction of the A350 will allow Emirates to expand its network to new destinations globally, including medium-sized airports unsuitable for larger aircraft. Emirates' A350s will be delivered in two versions – one for regional routes and one for ultra-long-haul routes.

The airline plans to operate its first commercial A350 flight to Edinburgh on January 3, 2025. In the following months, customers will be able to experience Emirates' A350 fleet at existing Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) destinations such as Bahrain, Muscat and Kuwait; Lyon and Bologna in Europe; Colombo, Mumbai and Ahmedabad in West Asia, in addition to new travel opportunities extending up to 15 hours from Dubai to be announced in 2025.
