In 2025, the department was allocated 33 inpatient beds; the number of inpatient treatments reached over 1,000, and the bed occupancy rate reached 106% of the plan. The total number of outpatient visits reached over 4,600, exceeding the set target.

The achievements over the past year are closely linked to the comprehensive reform process of the Traditional Medicine Department. Recognizing that improving professional quality is a key factor, the department has proactively reviewed and adjusted its reception, examination, and treatment procedures in a scientific manner, shortening waiting times and strengthening coordination between departments to provide maximum convenience for patients.

In its professional activities, the department promotes the application of new techniques, harmoniously combining traditional and modern medicine. The addition of methods such as shortwave therapy, pressure massage with steam, and electroacupuncture combined with modern physiotherapy equipment not only enhances treatment effectiveness but also expands the scope of intervention for various musculoskeletal, neurological, and post-stroke sequelae conditions. Treatment protocols are developed in a personalized manner, tailored to each patient, ensuring safety and optimal effectiveness.

A typical case is that of patient Nguyen Thi Xuyen, 53 years old, residing in Cam Duong ward. Ms. Xuyen was admitted to the hospital with neck pain radiating to her left shoulder and arm, and lower back pain radiating to both legs due to cervical and lumbar spinal degeneration causing nerve root compression. At the department, she was treated with acupuncture, cupping therapy, ultrasound therapy, and pulsed electrical current. Due to a history of penicillin allergy, the doctors carefully controlled the medication prescribed for Ms. Xuyen to ensure safety. Ms. Xuyen shared: “After a period of intensive treatment by the doctors, my pain has significantly decreased, and my mobility has improved. The doctors are very enthusiastic and frequently visit and encourage me.”

Assigning tasks according to individual capabilities and job positions helps to leverage each person's strengths, enhance responsibility, and improve work efficiency.

The department has also implemented information technology in managing patient records, monitoring treatment progress, and compiling professional statistics, contributing to information transparency and improving management quality. The working environment is neatly arranged, clean, and safe, creating a friendly and welcoming treatment space. Through these comprehensive and practical innovations, the Department of Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation affirms its position as a strong professional unit, meeting the current demands for healthcare, protection, and improvement of public health.

Dr. Hoang Ngoc Huy, Head of the Traditional Medicine and Rehabilitation Department, stated: "We are determined to continue improving professional quality in the coming time, leveraging the strengths of traditional medicine in combination with modern medicine. In addition, we will pay special attention to improving medical ethics and communication skills of healthcare staff, using patient satisfaction as a measure of service quality."
