Located at an altitude of over 1,500 meters above sea level, Sang Phin village is home to 110 households with nearly 400 inhabitants, all of whom are Mong ethnic people. The predominantly mountainous and rugged terrain, coupled with a harsh winter climate, meant that the lives of the villagers were previously very difficult. However, with the attention, investment, and support of the State, and through their determination and efforts, the people of Sang Phin village have proactively transformed their lives and the appearance of their village.

Previously, transportation was heavily dependent on the weather; during the rainy season, dirt roads became slippery, making it difficult to bring agricultural products to market. Now, however, concrete roads connect residential areas. The national power grid covers everything from village lanes to people's homes; schools and cultural centers have been invested in and are well-equipped. The lives of the Hmong people here are becoming increasingly stable.

Mr. Vang A Chu from Sang Phin village shared: “With concrete roads, motorbikes and cars can reach the village, making travel and trading agricultural products more convenient. Children can go to school with less difficulty, and the lives of the villagers have improved.”

In recent years, not only has the infrastructure improved, but the economic life of the people in Sang Phin has also seen significant progress. Taking advantage of the year-round cool climate and abundant arable land, the people have gradually shifted their crop and livestock structure towards commercial production. Besides traditional crops like rice and corn, many households are developing medicinal plants, temperate fruit trees, and concentrated livestock farming. On the hillsides and mountains that were previously mostly abandoned or cultivated in small plots, production areas have been formed, providing year-round greening and a stable source of income. This not only ensures food security but also allows households with surplus produce to sell to the market, accumulating capital to build sturdy houses, purchase machinery for production, and better care for their children's education.

Besides its beautiful natural scenery, Sang Phin village also preserves many traditional cultural values of the Mong ethnic group. The beautiful customs and traditions, passed down through generations, have created a unique identity for this land. This also represents potential for the local area to develop community tourism in the future.

Comrade Trieu Thai Binh - Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Sin Ho commune, said: “Sang Phin is a village with great potential for agricultural development and community tourism in the commune. In recent years, thanks to resources from the national target program and the consensus of the people, essential infrastructure in the area has been gradually invested in and improved, and the material and spiritual lives of the people have been increasingly enhanced. In the coming time, the commune will continue to focus on supporting the people in developing economically valuable crops and livestock, linking production development with environmental protection and preserving traditional cultural values. The goal is to build Sang Phin into a shining example of development in Sin Ho.”

Sang Phin still retains the pristine beauty of the Northwest mountains and forests, but is now taking on the new appearance of a developing rural area. Sang Phin is not only home to generations of highlanders, but also a rural area that embodies aspirations for progress and the building of a prosperous and happy life in the Sin Ho plateau.
