During the recent holiday, key tourist destinations in the province such as Sa Pa, Bac Ha, Y Ty (Bat Xat), and Nghia Do (Bao Yen) continued to be preferred choices for tourists thanks to their cool climate, beautiful natural landscapes, and rich cultural activities.

This year, Bac Ha district organized the qualifying rounds of the traditional horse racing festival about a month earlier than usual, coinciding with the holiday period. Nearly 100 jockeys participated in thrilling races, attracting many tourists to the stadium to watch, which is a positive sign for the locality to continue offering many unique products in this year's summer tourism season.
Mr. Tran Hoang Tuan, Vice Chairman of the Bac Ha District People's Committee, said: The district has determined that organizing the qualifying rounds early, coinciding with the holiday period, will provide locals and tourists with more enjoyable experiences.
Seizing this opportunity, Bac Ha is actively developing tourism products that meet the needs of visitors. During the peak summer tourism season, Bac Ha district will continue to organize the semi-finals and finals of the traditional horse racing festival, coinciding with the Tam Hoa plum harvest season, promising to attract thousands of tourists to the "white plateau". Along with that, the locality is stepping up the promotion and introduction of new tourism products and destinations to visitors.

During the 5-day holiday, tourism activities in the province were meticulously organized, ensuring safety for both locals and tourists. Tourism businesses proactively prepared, ensuring quality services according to standards and preventing overcrowding at tourist areas and attractions. Room rates and other services remained stable. In particular, the high number of visitors is clear evidence of the attractiveness of Lao Cai tourism, contributing to building and maintaining the image of Lao Cai as a friendly and safe destination.
Mr. Ha Quoc Trung, Head of the Tourism Management and Development Department of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, said: The positive signs during the holiday period are a "lever" for the tourism industry to continue striving to offer many attractive products this summer, aiming to welcome 10 million visitors in 2025.
Building on the success of the recent holiday tourism season, Lao Cai will continue to focus on developing products associated with experiencing nature, local culture, and high-quality resort experiences. At the same time, relevant agencies will intensify promotion, apply digital transformation in tourism management and promotion, improve service quality, and train local human resources.

This coming June, Lao Cai will host its first International Tourism Fair with 130 standard booths. The fair will feature participation from tourism businesses and international partners. In particular, the event will showcase a range of product packages, tours, and vouchers with significant discounts for tourists. This will be a great opportunity to promote and introduce Lao Cai's tourism potential to domestic and international visitors and partners.

With results exceeding expectations from the recent holiday season, Lao Cai tourism has a great opportunity to break through and become a leading attractive destination in the Northwest region during the 2025 summer tourism season.
