| The Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force of Hue City Police Department is disseminating information and providing guidance on fire prevention and escape skills to students. |
Under the pressure of urbanization and the increase in various types of businesses and services, fire prevention and rescue work in Hue City is facing increasingly high demands. Based on this reality, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department has reformed its knowledge dissemination activities to be more practical and relevant. Instead of administrative propaganda, the authorities are increasing direct communication, skills training, and fire fighting and evacuation drills in residential areas, apartment buildings, businesses, and schools. Fire prevention models at the grassroots level, such as "Safe Neighborhood Fire Prevention Teams," "Public Fire Fighting Points," and "Fire Prevention in Deep Alleys and Narrow Streets Inaccessible to Fire Trucks," are being widely implemented, leveraging the role of local forces and enhancing the awareness and prevention capabilities of the people.
Professional training and drills on fire fighting and rescue plans have been identified as key tasks to enhance readiness for response. During the year, the Hue City Police organized 5 fire fighting and rescue training courses for over 400 officers and soldiers; 24 fire prevention and control training courses with over 1,300 trainees; and 16 rescue training courses with over 500 trainees. Notably, the drill at Aeon Mall Hue mobilized over 1,700 people and 35 vehicles, thereby improving incident handling skills and coordination among forces.
The effectiveness of the preparations was clearly demonstrated during the major floods at the end of October 2025. When the disaster occurred, the Fire and Rescue Police force mobilized all its personnel, deploying 17 task forces, 17 watercraft, and 5 fire trucks and rescue vehicles on duty 24/7. The unit assisted more than 1,500 people, evacuated 300 elderly people, children, and pregnant women to safety, and transported 59 critically ill patients to hospitals for emergency treatment.
Colonel Nguyen Viet Hoang, Deputy Director of the City Police, stated: “Fire prevention and control work is only truly effective when it is implemented proactively and synchronously, with the involvement of the entire political system and the active participation of the people. Based on that, the Fire Prevention and Control and Rescue Police force of the city police department has determined that prevention is the main focus, and the grassroots level is the central priority.”
Since the beginning of the year, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Department has advised on the issuance of more than 100 documents implementing resolutions, plans, and directives of the Government, the Ministry of Public Security , and the People's Committee of the city. These documents focus on enhancing the responsibility of heads of agencies, units, localities, and owners of production and business establishments in ensuring fire safety; strengthening inspection and supervision; promptly detecting and addressing shortcomings; and preventing the emergence of complex fire and explosion risks.
2025 is also the year the Law on Fire Prevention and Rescue officially comes into effect on July 1st, 2025. The Hue City Police Department advised the City People's Committee to issue a plan for implementation, organizing conferences and training sessions with over 550 officials and employees participating. Propaganda activities continued to be innovative, linking theory and practice. More than 200 sessions disseminating knowledge and training skills in firefighting and rescue were held in apartment buildings, schools, and service businesses, attracting over 34,000 participants.
| With these achievements, in 2025, the Fire Prevention and Rescue Police Force will have 14 collective and nearly 40 individual commendations, affirming its core role in protecting the peace and safety of the people. |
