Working together to help OCOP products reach a wider market.

Through concrete actions, from assisting with application completion and standard training to networking and promotion, the Farmers' Association of Vo Tranh commune has contributed to bringing many local products to OCOP standards, gradually increasing their value and affirming their position in the market.

Huong Lien Production and Trading Co., Ltd. produces banh chung (Vietnamese sticky rice cake) using traditional methods, ensuring quality and food safety.

Vo Tranh commune has a long tradition of agricultural production, with tea being the main product. Leveraging this advantage, the commune's Farmers' Association has focused on implementing the OCOP program as a fundamental approach to enhance the value of agricultural products, promote rural economic development, and create sustainable livelihoods for the people.

Beyond mere propaganda and mobilization, the Association directly supports production facilities and cooperatives in accessing the OCOP process, participating in training courses on quality standards, food safety, packaging and labeling design, and gradually completing the required documentation.

One of the local OCOP 3-star products is Huong Lien sticky rice cake from Huong Lien Production and Trading Co., Ltd., located in Hamlet 9. Originating from the traditional sticky rice cake making of Bo Dau village, the company has gradually invested in improving its production process, focusing on quality control and ensuring food safety standards.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thu Huong, Director of Huong Lien Production and Trading Co., Ltd., said: "For Huong Lien sticky rice cakes to be recognized as OCOP 3-star, the support of the Farmers' Association of the commune was crucial. The Association provided specific guidance step-by-step in completing the application, advised on OCOP criteria, and created conditions for the facility to participate in promotional and product introduction activities."

At the end of 2025, Huong Lien Production and Trading Co., Ltd. signed a contract to supply various types of banh chung (traditional Vietnamese rice cakes) to the GO Supermarket system. This is a step forward, showing that the local traditional product is gradually meeting the requirements of the modern market, opening up opportunities for stable expansion of sales outlets.

Alongside supporting 3-star OCOP products, the Farmers' Association of the commune continues to work with cooperatives to build and upgrade them to 4-star status. A prime example is the Dat Phat lotus-infused tea product of the Dat Phat Clean Tea Cooperative. In 2025, the product is expected to be recognized as a 4-star OCOP product and a typical agricultural product of the province, contributing to affirming the Vo Tranh tea brand in the market.

The 4-star OCOP lotus-infused tea from Dat Phat Clean Tea Cooperative has been well-received by consumers.

Mr. Vu Thanh Thom, Director of Dat Phat Clean Tea Cooperative, said: "Right from the start of developing our lotus-infused tea product to participate in the OCOP Program, we have received active support from the Farmers' Association of the commune, especially in propaganda, training, and guidance on completing the criteria. This is an important foundation for the product to be recognized as a 4-star OCOP product and gradually expand its market."

Ms. Nguyen Thi Thuy, Chairwoman of the Farmers' Association of Vo Tranh commune, emphasized: "We clearly define our role as a bridge between farmers and state management agencies and experts. The Association not only provides technical support but also accompanies farmers in building brands and promoting products. In 2025 alone, the Association coordinated the organization of 36 training courses on scientific and technical transfer for over 5,586 members, and supported 183 households in creating accounts on e-commerce platforms."

To date, the entire commune has 17 OCOP products that have been recognized, reflecting the efforts of production facilities and the increasingly clear role of the Farmers' Association in supporting people to develop OCOP products in a systematic and sustainable manner.

From technical support and application advice to market connections, the Farmers' Association of Vo Tranh commune is gradually becoming a core force, helping farmers transform potential into concrete products and take the local OCOP products further afield.
