According to authorities, many unauthorized crossings are busy with pedestrian traffic, while visibility for train drivers is limited, thus posing a potential risk of accidents. Closing these crossings aims to help protect the safety corridor of the railway, minimize potential traffic accidents, and safeguard the lives and property of people in the area.
From the beginning of 2025 until now, with approximately 100 unauthorized crossings along the 100km railway line passing through the province, thanks to the decisive efforts of all parties involved, about 10 crossings in Quang Ngai province remain open. This has made Quang Ngai one of the provinces and cities with railway lines passing through it that has successfully met the requirements set by the Prime Minister in Decision 358.
In 2026, Quang Ngai province will coordinate with relevant units to completely close all level crossings, ensuring that no railway traffic safety issues arise.
