People unanimously donated land for road construction.

Land is a valuable asset, and donating it is not an easy decision when people's lives are still full of difficulties. However, dozens of households in Zone 6, Dai An, Quang Yen commune, voluntarily cut down trees, donated land, and moved fences to make way for the construction of a model new rural road. This is a beautiful traditional cultural practice, demonstrating the spirit of solidarity, mutual support, and the responsibility of each individual towards the overall development of the locality.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Mo's family donated approximately 70 meters long and 1 meter wide of land to expand the inter-communal road between Quang Yen and Minh Tien. Ms. Mo shared: "When the local authorities campaigned for land donations to expand the road, both times, my family happily agreed to move our fence and gate to hand over the land to the construction unit. The widened road makes it convenient for us to bring in machinery and vehicles to support production."

The Quang Yen - Minh Tien inter-communal road is 2.2km long, with approximately 60 households living along both sides. 14 households have donated land totaling nearly 2,000 square meters of various types. Previously, this road was only wide enough for an ox cart to pass through; after two expansions, the road is now 6 meters wide and paved smoothly, making it convenient for people to travel and trade goods.

To create wide, beautiful roads connecting each hamlet, households that didn't have to donate land contributed labor and money to rebuild fences for those whose properties were demolished. Many households were willing to donate even more to expand and upgrade village roads. In a short time, many rural roads in the commune were expanded and renovated. From 2022 to the present, dozens of households have donated tens of thousands of square meters of land of various types for public works serving the people. Without sparing any effort or expense, these generous hearts have inspired the movement to build rural roads, spreading throughout the hamlets and villages, with many inter-hamlet roads being simultaneously expanded.

The people's consensus was achieved thanks to the efforts of the government, the Front Committee, and local organizations in mobilizing people to donate land and hand over clean sites, enabling the construction to proceed quickly. Ms. Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung, Secretary of the Party branch in Zone 6, stated: “When the plan to open the road was announced, the zone coordinated with the Front Committee to hold meetings, solicit people's opinions, implement the construction plan, and discuss the methods of contribution and implementation. To date, the donation of land for road construction and the concreting of inter-village roads have received strong support and consensus from the people. With the roads widened, everyone is happy to have contributed their efforts to building their homeland.”

The movement to donate land for road construction has spread widely throughout the villages. The voluntary donation of land by residents without demanding compensation has created a great impetus for the local area to develop its rural transportation network. Currently, 100% of the main village roads have been renovated with a width of 5 meters or more, and the village lanes have been paved, ensuring a bright, green, clean, and beautiful environment.

The effectiveness of the land donation movement for road construction in Zone 6, Dai An, is clear evidence of the solidarity and unity of the people in working together to build their homeland. These wide, clean roads not only facilitate convenient travel for residents but also open up opportunities for economic development and improve the material and spiritual lives of the people.
