Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mo's family donated about 70m long and 1m wide of land to expand the Quang Yen - Minh Tien inter-commune road. Mrs. Mo shared: "When the local government mobilized to donate land to expand the road, both times the road was opened, my family happily agreed to move the fence and gate of the house to hand over the site to the construction unit. The expanded road is convenient for us to bring in machinery and vehicles to support production."
The Quang Yen - Minh Tien inter-commune road is 2.2km long, with about 60 households living on both sides of the road, 14 of which donated land with a total of nearly 2,000m2 of various types of land. Previously, this road was only wide enough for an ox-cart to pass through; after two expansions, the road has a width of 6m and is paved flat, convenient for people to travel and trade goods.
Mrs. Nguyen Thi Mo's family donated about 70m long and 1m wide of land to expand the inter-commune road of Quang Yen - Minh Tien.
In order to have wide and beautiful roads connecting each village and hamlet, households that did not have to donate land also contributed their efforts and money to rebuild fences for households that had been demolished. Many households were willing to donate more to expand and upgrade village roads. In just a short time, many rural traffic routes in the commune were expanded and renewed. From 2022 to now, dozens of households have donated tens of thousands of square meters of land of all kinds to build public works to serve the people. Without sparing effort and money, it is these open hearts that have inspired the movement to develop rural traffic routes to spread throughout the areas and hamlets, many inter-village roads are being expanded simultaneously.
The consensus of the people was achieved thanks to the government, the Front Work Committee and local organizations mobilizing people to participate in donating land and handing over clean land, helping the construction to be implemented soon. Comrade Nguyen Thi Hong Nhung - Secretary of the Party cell of Zone 6 said: "When there was a policy to open the road, the zone coordinated with the Front Work Committee to organize meetings, ask for people's opinions, deploy the construction plan and discuss the form of contribution and implementation. Up to now, the land donation to open the road and concretize the inter-village road has received high consensus and support from the people. The roads have been expanded, and everyone is excited because they can contribute a part of the effort to build their homeland."
The movement of donating land for road construction has spread widely throughout the alleys. The fact that people voluntarily donate land without asking for compensation has created a great motivation for the locality to develop the rural transport network. Currently, 100% of the main roads in the renovated villages have a road surface of 5m or more, and the alleys have been hardened to ensure light, greenness, cleanliness and beauty.
The effectiveness of the land donation movement for road construction in Dai An Zone 6 is a clear demonstration of the spirit of solidarity of the people to join hands in building their homeland. The spacious and clean roads not only help people travel conveniently but also open up opportunities for economic development, improving the material and spiritual life of the people.
