Dong Thap has 100% of communes meeting New Rural standards

On June 29, the Provincial Party Committee - People's Council - People's Committee - Vietnam Fatherland Front Committee of Dong Thap province solemnly held a ceremony to announce the Prime Minister's Decision recognizing Dong Thap province as completing the task of building new rural areas (NTM) in 2024.

Attending the ceremony were comrade Le Minh Hoan, member of the Party Central Committee, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly ; Secretary of Dong Thap Provincial Party Committee Le Quoc Phong; Chairman of Dong Thap Provincial People's Committee Tran Tri Quang; and other leaders and former leaders of the province through the periods.

At the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Le Minh Hoan presented Decision No. 1360/QD-TTg dated June 26, 2025 of the Prime Minister, recognizing Dong Thap province for completing the task of building a new rural area in 2024. To date, the whole province has 100% of communes meeting the new rural standards, of which 58 communes meet the advanced new rural standards and 6 communes meet the model new rural standards.

In his speech, comrade Le Minh Hoan suggested that Dong Thap province continue to integrate the new rural development program with sustainable poverty reduction, focusing on “human infrastructure”, promoting farmers’ intellectualization, developing the rural economy comprehensively, and bringing technology to the village. The goal of the program is not only to meet standards, aiming to build smart villages, happy villages, but also to improve the quality of life for the people.

On this occasion, the People's Committee of Dong Thap province awarded Certificates of Merit to 45 collectives and 66 individuals with outstanding achievements contributing to Dong Thap province completing the task of building new rural areas in 20224.
