Although music tourism programs along the heritage site have only been established and developed in Quang Ninh for about the last two years, they have become an attractive tourist experience in Ha Long, and are one of the potential tourism products that contribute to attracting tourists, especially during the autumn and winter seasons.
In the first nine months of 2024, Quang Ninh province welcomed 15.6 million visitors. Recently, on October 21st, the province also welcomed its 3 millionth international visitor. Over the years, with its advantageous natural landscapes, Quang Ninh's coastal tourism has affirmed its position on the tourism map not only domestically but also internationally. However, despite being a strong attraction for tourists in the summer, coastal tourism is less appealing in the autumn and winter due to the weather conditions in the North, especially for domestic tourists.
Recognizing this weakness, Quang Ninh's tourism industry has focused on developing new products and experiences for the autumn and winter seasons, exploiting cultural and entertainment elements. Keeping pace with the trend of music tourism in recent years, both globally and domestically, music programs and festivals in Quang Ninh are increasingly organized more frequently, on a larger scale, bringing together famous artists and delivering well-invested, meticulously produced products with high artistic value.
One notable recent event was "The Sound of the Wind - Youthful Station," held in mid-October at the Sun Hill stage, with the World Heritage site of Ha Long Bay as the backdrop. The program featured a special collaboration with singer Phuong Thanh, a unique voice that has resonated with fans for many years with her rock hits like "Trong Vang" and "Dem Lao Xao." Alongside her was singer Tang Phuc, a highly influential figure among young audiences, particularly popular after the 2024 "Brother Overcoming a Thousand Thorns" television show. These two artists attracted nearly 1,000 attendees, including numerous fans from various provinces and cities who traveled to Ha Long. The program was an engaging cultural event, contributing to the promotion of Ha Long and the miraculous recovery of Quang Ninh tourism to both artists and tourists.
Sharing his thoughts after the show, singer Tang Phuc said he was particularly impressed with the recovery of tourism in Quang Ninh after the storm. It's a beautiful place, and he himself has performed there many times. The professionalism in the organization, coupled with the enthusiastic support of the audience, will be reasons why he would return to Ha Long many more times if given the opportunity.
Mr. Ngo Thanh Tung, Founder of the Thanh Am Ben Thong Music Show, said: "We have made great efforts to quickly restore music programs after the storm to meet the expectations of fans and bring attractive cultural tourism experiences to Quang Ninh tourism in the autumn and winter. From now until the end of the year, we plan to bring many impressive artists such as Vu Cat Tuong, Ha Nhi, Ung Hoang Phuc, etc., to Ha Long."
With convenient transportation and modern facilities, although it has only appeared in Ha Long, in the past two years or so, hundreds of large and small music shows have been organized, attracting a large number of tourists to Quang Ninh. Along with that, the scale of the shows has also increased both in the number of participating artists and the audience.
This summer and autumn, Love in the Bay Season 4 also chose Ha Long Bay as its venue. Leading artists showcased their voices amidst the Heritage Bay through musical programs held on the 5-star Ambassador cruise ship, against a backdrop of magnificent natural scenery, leaving a lasting impression.
From now until the end of the year, many major music events will also be held in Quang Ninh. Notable examples include Superfest 2024@QuangNinh, featuring big names like Soobin, BinZ, Bang Kieu, Wean, Quang Hung MasterD… at the Sun Carnival Square in Ha Long, with an audience of 10,000.
As a favorite destination for international tourists in the autumn and winter seasons, with infrastructure available for major cultural events, the continued exploitation of this promising music tourism market promises to transform Ha Long, Quang Ninh into a year-round tourist destination, not only achieving the target of welcoming 19 million tourists in 2024 but also serving as a solution to attract visitors in the following years.
