For our 3-day, 2-night Quang Tri tour, we will pick you up at Dong Ha Train Station or bus stations in Quang Tri.
During the 3-day, 2-night Quang Tri tour program, visitors will visit famous DMZ sites in Quang Tri.
Quang Tri Tour Program: 3 days, 2 nights
DAY 1: DONG HA – CUA VIET – CON CO ISLAND
6:30 AM: The vehicle and tour guide will pick up guests from Dong Ha Train Station or other bus stations in the city, and take them to Cua Viet Port to depart for Con Co Island. Con Co Island is located 30km from the mainland, and it takes approximately 90 minutes to reach the island.
Upon arriving at Con Co Island by speedboat, tourists can check in at the Con Co Flagpole and then visit the Traditional Room to hear a general introduction about the island.
Check in, rest. Have lunch at one of the restaurants on the island.
In the afternoon, guests will explore the CON CO PRIMARY FOREST , conquer the LIGHTHOUSE to admire the panoramic view of Con Co Island and the East Sea.
Visitors can explore the Military Medical Bunker and the system of trenches, tunnels, and bunkers used during the war at Con Co Island!
Continuing the journey, visitors will tour BEN NGHE , the spot that receives the first rays of sunlight on the island, and hear stories about the legend of the square-leaved Terminalia tree and the stone crab of Con Co Island…
Guests are free to swim and snorkel at Ben Tranh.
Evening: Guests are free to go fishing, rent a boat to catch squid, crabs, sea grapes, etc., and enjoy a BBQ party on the beach with their catch!
DAY 2: CON CO ISLAND – HIEN LUONG BRIDGE – MOC BAY (Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner)
In the morning, guests wake up early to watch the sunrise over Con Co Island , take a leisurely stroll, and learn about the lives of the local people and soldiers!
8:00 AM: Guests board the boat and return to the mainland.
10:00 AM: Guests will visit Con Tien - Doc Mieu base, the McNamara electronic fence, the 17th parallel, Hien Luong bridge - Ben Hai river - the place that divided the country during the resistance war against the US.
The group then continued their tour to the Vinh Moc Tunnels – the underground living and fighting ground of the soldiers and people of Vinh Linh during the most intense years of the war against the US.
Noon: Return to Dong Ha City, have lunch, and rest.
The tour bus took the group to visit La Vang Sanctuary – a sacred site for Vietnamese Catholics, associated with the legend of the Virgin Mary's apparition to save humanity.
The delegation then visited Quang Tri Ancient Citadel – the site of the 81-day and 81-night defense of the citadel during the war against the US in 1972.
Day 3: Ta Con Airport – Khe Sanh – Lao Bao (noon)
Morning: The group has breakfast. The bus takes the group to Lao Bao via the heroic National Highway 9.
Visit the Highway 9 National Cemetery , the most beautiful cemetery in Vietnam, which houses the graves of over 10,000 heroic martyrs.
Visitors can visit and take photos of the Dakrong Suspension Bridge and the Dakrong scenic area. Upon arriving in Khe Sanh, visitors can tour the Ta Con – Khe Sanh Airfield , the largest combat airfield in the region, which witnessed the catastrophic defeat of the Khe Sanh stronghold.
Noon: Arrive at Lao Bao town, have lunch at a restaurant, and rest there.
Afternoon: Visit Lao Bao International Border Gate – the busiest border crossing in Central Vietnam, the gateway to the East-West Economic Corridor. Here, you are free to shop for duty-free goods, souvenirs, etc.
You will return to Dong Ha city.
The tour guide bids farewell to the group. This concludes the 3-day, 2-night Quang Tri tour program.
