(NLĐO) - Sam Son tourism continues to affirm its leading position in Thanh Hoa province, welcoming 8.86 million visitors and generating over 17 trillion VND in tourism revenue.

According to Mr. Le Van Tu, Chairman of the People's Committee of Sam Son City, in 2024, Sam Son tourism will continue to affirm its leading position in the province, as an attractive, friendly, and safe destination for tourists.
Accordingly, in 2024, Sam Son welcomed 8.86 million visitors, equivalent to 109.3% compared to the same period and 104.3% of the plan; serving 17.27 million visitor-days, equivalent to 109.6% compared to the same period and 104.7% of the plan. Total revenue from tourism reached 17.1 trillion VND (equivalent to 140.6% compared to the same period and 108.8% of the plan).
According to Mr. Tu, the above results were achieved because in 2024, Sam Son City launched many new tourist destinations and products, creating a strong impression and attracting a large number of locals and tourists, such as: Sam Son Beach Square and the Sam Son Beach Festival landscape axis; SunWorld Water Park…
In addition, during the year, Sam Son successfully collaborated with the Thanh Hoa provincial tourism industry to organize a series of cultural, sports , and tourism events, leaving a positive impression on friends and tourists.

To continue developing Sam Son into a civilized, modern, and hospitable coastal urban area, according to Mr. Tu, in 2025, the city will accelerate the development of tourism in the South with various types of resort tourism and culinary areas to serve tourists. At the same time, the city will continue to create favorable conditions for domestic and foreign businesses to invest in tourism infrastructure, especially entertainment services and high-end restaurants.
In particular, Sam Son will focus on researching and improving night-time economic services (night markets, pedestrian streets, etc.) to attract high-spending tourists with longer stays, with the expectation of shifting the flow of tourists both spatially and temporally.
Therefore, Sam Son City aims to welcome 9.68 million visitors and serve 19.9 million tourists by 2025; tourism revenue is estimated to reach 21 trillion VND.
Besides the achievements, the leaders of Sam Son City also frankly acknowledged that tourism activities in the area still face some limitations and difficulties such as: low service quality and low added value; continued encroachment on sidewalks and roads for selling goods; and illegal parking of four-wheeled electric vehicles and cyclos...

Mr. Nguyen Van Thi, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Thanh Hoa province, said that based on the achievements, Sam Son needs to continue focusing on developing infrastructure and technical facilities to serve tourism; promoting administrative reform, creating a favorable investment environment to attract strategic investors and businesses with strong brands; and effectively supporting investors during the implementation process to accelerate the progress of key projects.
Furthermore, according to Mr. Thi, Sam Son needs to research and organize cultural, sports, and tourism events during the off-season. This should focus on mobilizing local tourism businesses to jointly implement the "Sam Son Winter - A Sublime Experience" campaign, linked with deep discounts and diverse supplementary services to promote year-round tourism. The goal is to have at least one new tourism product announced and put into operation each year.
