Lunar New Year travel promises to be vibrant.

In recent days, the number of tourists booking resort accommodations in Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa for the Lunar New Year 2024 has increased rapidly. It is predicted that Khanh Hoa will welcome a large number of tourists this Tet season, with the peak period for domestic tourists being from the 2nd to the 5th day of Tet.

Occupancy rates have increased significantly.

According to online booking sites such as booking.com and agoda.com, Nha Trang is one of Vietnam's most popular tourist destinations during this year's Tet holiday. Booking.com's statistics show that Nha Trang is the second most searched-for destination by domestic tourists (after Da Lat, Lam Dong ). In fact, in recent days, the number of bookings has increased significantly, especially in the Bai Dai area (Cam Lam district) and hotels and resorts with prime locations in Nha Trang city. Ms. Vu Thi Huong Giang, General Manager of Alma Resort (Bai Dai area), said that 93% of the resort's rooms are already occupied, mostly by individual guests and families. Besides Vietnamese tourists, there are also many Korean and Australian visitors. Similarly, high-quality resorts such as The Anam Cam Ranh, Ana Mandara Cam Ranh, Fusion Cam Ranh, Radisson Blu Resort Cam Ranh, and Movenpick Resort Cam Ranh all have very high occupancy rates.

Currently, many hotels on Tran Phu Street (Nha Trang City), including the Vinpearl Nha Trang hotel chain, are experiencing high occupancy rates. Sheraton Nha Trang and Novotel Nha Trang hotels have already reached over 90% occupancy for the Tet holiday; Empyrean Nha Trang has over 80% occupancy; and December Nha Trang has over 70% occupancy… The number of bookings continues to increase. According to tourism professionals, the occupancy rate for hotels throughout the province during this Tet holiday will reach over 70%. Although the number of tourists during Tet is expected to increase significantly compared to normal days, this will not put pressure on the supply or prices of services at tourist areas and attractions. Most hotels and resorts have not increased accommodation prices. Hotels and resorts are also preparing programs that reflect the rich Vietnamese Tet culture for tourists to experience and enjoy. “The current trend is for hotels and resorts to emphasize local culture. Therefore, hotels and resorts are preparing programs for guests to celebrate Tet (Lunar New Year) and include traditional dishes in their menus…,” shared Ms. Nguyen Thi Uyen Chi, General Manager of Empyrean Nha Trang Hotel.

Ensuring service quality

With a projected increase in tourist numbers, travel businesses have made plans to cater to visitors seeking entertainment and recreation. Mr. Nguyen Le Thanh Nhat, Director of An Nam Tour Trading and Service Company, said: "Many foreign tourists have already booked tours to Nha Trang Bay, but the number of Vietnamese tourists booking tours is still low. We are hoping that in the first days of the new year, the number of domestic tourists from other provinces and cities flocking to Nha Trang will increase.”

According to Mr. Tran Minh Duc, Director of Long Phu Tourism Joint Stock Company and Vice President of the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, Vinpearl will attract a large number of visitors this year. In addition, tours exploring the sea, islands of Nha Trang Bay and Nha Phu Lagoon, as well as historical sites and scenic spots in Nha Trang, will also be very popular. Ecotourism destinations such as Galina Lake View - Kenh Ha Lake (Nha Trang City), Yang Bay Tourist Park (Khanh Vinh District), and Ba Ho Tourist Area will also attract tourists during the upcoming Tet holiday.

Tourism activities will be vibrant during the Lunar New Year holiday. Therefore, the Department of Tourism has issued a document requiring accommodation establishments to strictly comply with regulations on registration, price listing, and selling at the listed price; maintain and ensure service quality, ensure security and safety for tourists, focus on fire prevention and control, and ensure food safety and hygiene. The Department also requires hotels, tourist areas, and attractions to have plans for managing and guiding tourists during peak times to avoid overcrowding and ensure quality service.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Le Thanh - Director of the Department of Tourism: To create a positive atmosphere right from the beginning of the year, as well as to serve the promotion and advertising of Khanh Hoa tourism, the Department of Tourism, in coordination with Cam Ranh International Airport and the Nha Trang branch of Vietnam Airlines, will organize a welcoming ceremony for the first flight to arrive in Khanh Hoa on the morning of the first day of the Lunar New Year 2024 (Year of the Dragon). Accordingly, flight number VN1340 of Vietnam Airlines is scheduled to depart from Tan Son Nhat International Airport at 6:40 AM and arrive at Cam Ranh International Airport at 8:00 AM on February 10th. Leaders of the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Tourism, the Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa Tourism Association, and other departments and agencies will go to the aircraft's gangway to welcome tourists to the Land of Agarwood, sending a message that Nha Trang - Khanh Hoa is always friendly and hospitable.

According to information from Cam Ranh International Airport, during the Tet holiday, there will be approximately 550 domestic flights, with over 90,000 passengers arriving and departing (equivalent to the number of passengers in 2023); and approximately 585 international flights through Cam Ranh International Airport (a 130% increase compared to 2023), with approximately 98,357 passengers (a 110% increase compared to 2023). Of these, flights from China to Cam Ranh will be around 20 flights/day, from South Korea to Cam Ranh around 18-19 flights/day, and from Kazakhstan 1 flight/day…
