Tuy Phong district has great tourism potential, ranging from beach and island tourism to mountain and forest exploration tourism. In 2023, the locality achieved a breakthrough, welcoming 1,455,620 visitors, exceeding the annual plan and increasing by 32% compared to 2022.
Breakthrough with the National Tourism Year
Located in the northern part of the province, with a 50km coastline and many beautiful, pristine beaches, Tuy Phong's tourism has made steady progress in recent years. The locality focuses on developing unique and attractive tourism products, including beach and island tourism associated with Binh Thanh tourist area, Co Thach pagoda, the seven-colored rock beach, and visits to Hon Cau island, leaving a lasting impression on tourists. Along with this, it has diversified its tourism products to include religious tourism, visits to historical and cultural relics, resort tourism, community tourism, beach activities, and water sports . In 2023, the district effectively utilized its transportation infrastructure to attract tourists. Specifically, the 100.8km section of the North-South expressway from Vinh Hao to Phan Thiet, connecting 150km of the province, was put into operation and proved effective; the Ninh Thuan - Tuy Phong - Bac Binh bus route was put into operation, serving the transportation needs of the people and tourists. The ports and tourist boats have been licensed to operate and serve tourism and sightseeing on Hon Cau Island.

In particular, with the province hosting the 2023 National Tourism Year with the theme " Binh Thuan - Green Convergence," Tuy Phong tourism has more opportunities for breakthrough development. Besides maintaining traditional festivals and beliefs that create cultural diversity such as: the Hung Kings Commemoration Ceremony at the Hung Kings Temple on the 10th day of the 3rd lunar month, the Spring and Autumn Festivals at village communal houses, the Fishing Festival at the riverine communities, the Cat Bay Memorial Ceremony, the Traditional Music and Singing Contest, the Binh Thanh Sand Dunes Challenge... The district leaders have directed the implementation and organization of the 2023 National Tourism Year activities "Binh Thuan - Green Convergence."
Tuy Phong boasts a diverse range of traditional festivals and sports tourism.
Accordingly, many cultural, sports, and tourism activities associated with the National Tourism Year were organized to promote the image of Tuy Phong's homeland and people to tourists, such as: the 1st Tuy Phong Half Marathon; the District-level Men's Volleyball and Tennis Tournaments; in coordination with the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, organizing the BTV Binh Thuan 2023 Stop And Run Marathon; the District-level 5-a-side Football Tournament for officials, civil servants, and workers… Notably, the district coordinated with provincial departments and agencies to organize the "Journey of the Sea and Flowers" tourism development program between Lam Dong and Binh Thuan and piloted the Ta Nang - Phan Dung route, contributing to creating attractive products and developing eco-tourism in the mountainous forest areas.

Over the past year, the locality has paid special attention to attracting investment, developing diverse types of tourism, improving the quality of tourism products, and organizing many domestic tourism stimulus programs to attract tourists. A highlight is the increasing number of visitors to Tuy Phong through eco-tourism tours and routes to the forests and seas. For example, the Cu Lao Cau Island tour received 8,295 visitors in 2022 and 12,026 visitors in 2023. The Ta Nang - Phan Dung trekking route received 10,142 visitors in 2023 (compared to 6,230 visitors in 2022)... contributing to the increase in tourist numbers in Tuy Phong year after year. Specifically, in 2023, Tuy Phong's tourism industry welcomed 1,455,620 visitors, a 32% increase compared to 1,102,469 visitors in 2022.
Local authorities, in coordination with relevant provincial departments and agencies, are developing adventure tourism along the Ta Nang - Phan Dung trekking route.
Recognizing this as a promising new adventure tourism product, expected to attract tourists to Tuy Phong in particular and Binh Thuan province in general in the near future, the Chairman of the Tuy Phong District People's Committee led a district delegation, along with the Phan Dung commune government, in early 2023 to organize a hiking trip along the Ta Nang - Phan Dung route to initiate the development of this tourism route. Following this, Tuy Phong district collaborated with a provincial delegation led by the Binh Thuan Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, along with the Lam Dong Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and various tourism associations and travel companies, to conduct the Ta Nang - Phan Dung hiking trip. During this trip, a joint tourism development program, "Journey of the Sea and Flowers," was signed between Binh Thuan and Lam Dong provinces to jointly develop the Ta Nang - Phan Dung trekking route. This aims to increase competitiveness, diversify and innovate tourism activities, develop new products, and expand tours and routes between Binh Thuan and Lam Dong. Thanks to local efforts, Tuy Phong's tourism has initially succeeded, not only making a strong impression on visitors with its diverse tourism products but also fostering a greater appreciation for Tuy Phong as a destination that prioritizes safety, civilized and courteous service, and a spirit of hospitality.
