One of the outstanding successes of the social insurance and health insurance dissemination efforts in the province is the participation of the entire political system. From local Party committees and governments to mass organizations, collection staff, and grassroots outreach collaborators, all have become "extended arms" bringing the policies to every household.
New communication models, policy dialogue conferences at enterprises, and small-group outreach in residential areas, neighborhoods, and markets continue to be innovated and effectively implemented. Many creative approaches have helped make social insurance and health insurance policies more accessible and relatable to the people, especially self-employed workers, small traders, and small business owners who have not yet participated.
After receiving outreach from social insurance officials and collection agents, Ms. Le Tuyet Trinh (Phuoc Hau ward) said she understood her rights better when participating in voluntary social insurance and decided to join to have a pension in her old age. “I run a small business, but I can still participate in voluntary social insurance. Having a pension and health insurance card later will give me more peace of mind and I won't be dependent on my children and grandchildren,” Ms. Trinh shared.
The Provincial Social Insurance Agency recently collaborated with Vinh Long Newspaper and Radio & Television to organize an online discussion program on the theme "Social Insurance - A Lifelong Foundation for Social Security." The program was broadcast live on digital platforms, attracting thousands of viewers, workers, and employers. Ms. Tran Thi Thu Trinh, Deputy Director of the Provincial Social Insurance Agency, emphasized: "This is a practical activity aimed at diversifying communication methods, enhancing the application of digital technology, and helping people and businesses access new aspects of social insurance and health insurance policies conveniently."
At the seminar, representatives from the provincial Social Insurance agency provided information on the results of implementing social insurance and health insurance policies, the benefits of digital transformation, the VssID-Social Insurance application, online public services, and cashless payments. Speakers discussed and clarified many important policy-related issues, especially the new points in the 2024 Social Insurance Law. Humanitarian and groundbreaking regulations such as reducing the minimum social insurance contribution period to receive a pension from 20 years to 15 years, adding maternity benefits for voluntary social insurance participants, and expanding the scope of mandatory social insurance participation were highlighted.
According to the report, by the end of May 2026, the entire province had over 106,000 people participating in voluntary social insurance, reaching nearly 94% of the plan. The number of people participating in health insurance reached over 3.34 million, with a coverage rate of nearly 97% of the population. Each citizen participating in social insurance and health insurance is proof of the effectiveness of the propaganda work, contributing to building a nationwide social security system.
Through its communication activities, the provincial Social Insurance agency continues to affirm the importance of communication in bringing social insurance and health insurance policies closer to the people and businesses; spreading the message: "Participating in social insurance and health insurance today is an investment in your future and your own peace of mind," contributing to building a sustainable social security system, aiming for universal social insurance and health insurance coverage and ensuring that no one is left behind.
