Make a good impression on tourists.
In early November 2025, while sightseeing and shopping at Han Market (Hai Chau Ward), a tourist from Malaysia carelessly dropped their wallet, which contained all their personal documents, nearly 4 million VND, and about 500 Malaysian Ringgit (MYR).
Upon receiving the information, the market security force immediately coordinated with the vendors to search every walkway and check the stalls near where the tourist had visited. In a short time, all the belongings were found and returned, much to the tourist's emotion.
Earlier, at the end of August 2025, Han Market also recorded a case where an Indian tourist accidentally dropped a phone worth approximately 20 million VND.
Despite the language barrier, the security personnel patiently communicated to gather information and conduct a search. After checking the cameras and the surrounding area, the phone was quickly found and returned to the tourist.
Reportedly, since the beginning of the year, security personnel at Han Market have found and returned lost or forgotten property in more than 10 cases, with a total value exceeding 100 million VND.

According to Mr. Tran Van Dung, Deputy Head of the Han Market Management Board, due to its status as a famous tourist market in the city, Han Market welcomes 5,000 to 7,000 visitors daily, and up to over 10,000 on peak days, mainly international tourists.
With a large number of customers, demanding high-quality service, safety, and civilized trade practices, the Market Management Board has identified this as a key task that needs to be implemented comprehensively and maintained regularly.
According to Mr. Dung, ensuring security and safety for tourists is always a top priority. Security personnel are always on duty, ready to assist tourists and handle any arising situations. This is also how the market management board builds trust, so that tourists feel safe when shopping at Han Market.
To make a good impression and retain both domestic and international tourists, traders at Han Market are constantly improving their spirit, responsibility, and service quality, ensuring civilized trade practices.
Ms. Vo Thi Bach Tuyet, a small business owner selling food and specialty products, believes that making a lasting impression on tourists and encouraging them to return is a goal that each small business owner and the market management board always prioritize. However, this requires each small business owner to have a high sense of responsibility in ensuring product quality and transparency of information.
At Han Market, vendors strictly adhere to product traceability regulations by affixing QR codes, clearly displaying prices, and selling at the listed prices to build customer trust.

Besides product transparency, a welcoming attitude and communication skills are key factors in attracting and retaining customers at the stall. For international tourists, language barriers are a major obstacle, so many vendors proactively learn basic vocabulary used by regular market groups, such as those from Thailand, the United States, South Korea, and China.
We sell not only local and regional products, but also experiences, satisfaction, and trust. That's what every vendor strives for to build the brand and reputation of Han Market with customers.

Towards building a "market of smiles"
Lucia Tran (a tourist from Australia), visiting Han Market for the first time, said that what impressed her most was the bustling atmosphere and the friendly demeanor of the vendors.
Almost every vendor greeted visitors with a bright smile and a warm, sincere attitude, making them feel welcome even if they only stopped by for a short time.
"What's great is that many stalls offer customers samples of local specialties without any pressure to buy. We felt comfortable, completely free from the worry of being overcharged or ripped off, making shopping very pleasant and enjoyable," Lucia expressed.

Establishing clarity and transparency in business practices is crucial for building rapport with international visitors. Mr. Tran Van Dung stated that the market management board regularly reminds and inspects businesses to ensure they strictly adhere to price listing regulations and sell at the correct prices.
At the same time, the attitude of service between vendors and tourists should be instilled in the spirit of "welcome guests with pleasure, send them off with satisfaction." According to Mr. Dung, friendly and civilized behavior, without discrimination between local and international tourists, is a decisive factor in retaining tourists and creating a positive image of Han Market in the hearts of visitors.
Currently, the market management board is developing a plan to implement many comprehensive solutions, with the focus being on disseminating and spreading the spirit of the "Da Nang Smile" criteria to every official, member of the management board, trader, and worker at the market.
This includes focusing on five criteria: S - Safety; M - Manager (civilized conduct); I - Integrity; L - Loyalty; and E - Environment.
Simultaneously, the Management Board will organize specialized training courses on commercial etiquette, communication skills, situation handling, and improving the quality of service for tourists; and promote awareness through various diverse forms. Inspection and supervision will be carried out regularly.
In particular, the Market Management Board has publicly announced a hotline to receive feedback in order to promptly ensure the rights of customers and maintain the reputation of Han Market.
The long-term goal is to transform Han Market into a unique international tourist attraction right here in Da Nang. Every visitor will experience the warmth, friendliness, and hospitality of the local people.
