Diverse activities

On weekends, Ms. Vu Khanh Chi takes her daughter, a third-grade student at Phuong Sai Primary School, to read at the Children's Reading Room of the Provincial Library (Nha Trang Ward). There, the two of them comfortably choose suitable books. Ms. Khanh Chi had a meaningful time reading with her daughter, learning about her interests, and sharing the interesting content in each book. “My daughter loves to read, so even though I'm busy, I try to make time to read with her. The Provincial Library has a suitable space, a rich collection of books, and regularly adds new titles,” Ms. Chi said.

Throughout the year, the Provincial Library effectively implemented the book circulation program, donating books to libraries in agencies, units, and schools. Mobile book services to Khanh Hiep Primary School, Cam Hoa Primary School, Ninh Binh Primary School, Cam Ranh Tourism and Technical College, Song Cai Prison, and several armed forces units in the province created a vibrant atmosphere as readers had access to a large and diverse selection of books. In particular, the Provincial Library focused on serving the needs of provincial ceremonies and events, such as: the Party and Lunar New Year celebration week; the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam and the founding of the Provincial Party Committee; the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of Khanh Hoa Province; the 50th anniversary of the Liberation of the South and National Reunification; and the 135th anniversary of the birth of President Ho Chi Minh. To commemorate the 80th anniversary of the successful August Revolution and the National Day of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, information resources in various forms, including quoted texts, full texts, and book introduction clips, are displayed and presented to readers directly at the Provincial Library and on the unit's website and social media accounts.

The provincial library also actively collaborates with agencies, units, and localities inside and outside the province to organize events aimed at promoting reading culture, such as: the Spring Newspaper Fair of the Year of the Snake; a series of activities in response to the 4th Vietnam Book and Reading Culture Day; the provincial-level Children's Storytelling Contest based on books; the closing ceremony and awarding of prizes for the provincial-level Reading Culture Ambassador Contest; a series of activities serving young readers during the summer with the theme "A vibrant summer through every page of a book"; the first Khanh Hoa Provincial Reading Family Contest, 2025...

Improving the quality of service for readers.

According to Mr. Dinh Xuan Huong, Director of the Provincial Library, 2025 is a particularly important milestone for the Provincial Library. Completing the organizational merger and streamlining the apparatus is not merely an administrative task, but also an opportunity for the unit to restructure, standardize, and improve the quality of service to people throughout the province. Despite the large workload and numerous innovation requirements, the Provincial Library has maintained stability and strongly developed its professional activities, from serving readers on-site, circulating resources to local branches, organizing events to promote reading culture, to accelerating digital transformation, digitizing resources, building AI chatbots, and developing online services. All of this reflects the determination to transform the library into a modern, friendly, and accessible knowledge space for the community.

In the coming period, the Provincial Library will continue to improve the quality of service to readers and promote the development of reading culture in a strong and practical way. The unit will focus on strengthening digital transformation, continuing to effectively apply technology in management and professional activities, and providing online search services; paying attention to editing thematic databases, factual data, full-text databases, compiling information publications, bibliographic information, and document directories... to update on digital software for readers. The unit will also focus on consolidating and developing diverse forms of socialized library activities; improving the quality of coordination with departments, localities, and social components; and increasing linkages with libraries in the national public library system to enhance the capacity of information resources to serve readers.

In 2025, the Provincial Library served 1,253 sessions with over 2 million readers, including 1,135 sessions at the library and 118 mobile service sessions. The library also issued 5,486 new reader cards and renewed 2,735 cards; circulated 80,192 book titles with 111,590 copies to 278 grassroots units in the province, including 11 new units.
