Stop the Miss Viet Bac contest

On August 12, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province issued Document No. 5590/UBND-VXNV on agreeing to adjust some contents in Plan No. 444/KH-UBND dated June 27 of the People's Committee of Bac Kan province.

Specifically, this province will not organize the first Miss Viet Bac contest - Bac Kan 2024.

Accordingly, since June, natural disasters, rains, and flash floods have continuously occurred in the provinces of the Viet Bac region, killing many people and causing great damage to property. In Bac Kan, African swine fever has spread widely, causing great damage to the majority of small-scale livestock farmers.

These losses make it inappropriate to hold the first "Miss Viet Bac" contest at this time.

Faced with this situation, in order for the provinces to focus on preventing, combating and overcoming the consequences of natural disasters and epidemics, the People's Committee of Bac Kan province has decided not to organize the first "Miss Viet Bac" contest as planned.

Previously, the provinces of the Viet Bac region including Cao Bang, Bac Kan, Lang Son, Thai Nguyen, Tuyen Quang and Ha Giang agreed to organize the program "Through the Viet Bac heritage sites" in 2024 at the regional level in conjunction with a number of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the Liberation Day of Bac Kan province (August 24, 1949 - August 24, 2024).

In particular, according to the plan, for the first time, the provinces will coordinate to organize the first "Beauty of Viet Bac" contest with the expectation of creating a highlight and unique mark for the program "Through the heritage sites of Viet Bac" in 2024 and the following years.
