Equity in access to education

The multi-level boarding school project in border communes is not just a purely infrastructure project, but a strategic cornerstone for the breakthrough of education in disadvantaged areas. From the long-term vision of the administrators, the commitment to quality of the construction unit, to the happiness of parents and students when the burden of transportation is lifted, all have combined to create a new face for education in this border region. Let's listen to the voices of those involved about the practical effectiveness and the powerful transformation resulting from this landmark policy.

Comrade Vu Dinh Hung
Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of the Department of Education and Training

Strategic decision

The construction of a multi-level ethnic boarding school system in 17 border communes is not simply an infrastructure investment, but a strategic decision with a long-term vision for the province's education system.

For me, this is the most fundamental solution to address the issue of human resource quality and bridge the gap between regions. The multi-level boarding school model helps children from ethnic minority communities overcome harsh geographical obstacles, allowing them to study and live in a modern, safe environment. This is a prerequisite for them to nurture their dreams and minimize the risk of dropping out due to long distances.

The education sector, along with all levels and branches of government, is focusing all its efforts on completing the project, determined to ensure it is ready for the 2026-2027 school year. When knowledge is firmly established, the people's trust will be strengthened, creating a solid foundation of public support. These new schools will be "cultural milestones," not only teaching literacy but also training succeeding generations with the necessary character and vision to build and protect the Tuyen Quang border region for sustainable development.

Comrade Hoang Anh Tuan
Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Bach Dich Commune

Create all favorable conditions to accelerate progress.

The Bach Dich Primary and Secondary Boarding School is being built on an area of 43,330 m2 in Na Ca village, with 31 classrooms, providing accommodation, meals, and learning facilities for 1,085 students. The project includes the following main components: a block of subject and theoretical classrooms; an administrative building; a canteen and multi-purpose hall; a boarding block for primary and secondary students and teachers; and a sports field. The total investment for the project is estimated at over 216 billion VND, with completion expected in August 2027.

To date, Bach Dich commune has intensified its efforts to raise awareness and encourage residents to cooperate in land clearance and compensation payments. During the implementation process, the local authorities will mobilize the entire political system to participate, coordinating supervision, support, and resolving issues, ensuring the handover of cleared land; guaranteeing security and order, and protecting property at the construction site so that construction units can confidently implement the project on schedule.

Teacher Tran Van Trung
Principal of Xín Cái Ethnic Boarding Junior High School, Sơn Vĩ Commune

A new pillar for education in border regions.

As an educator deeply committed to the mountainous region, I am deeply moved that the Son Vi Ethnic Minority Boarding School project, encompassing primary and secondary levels, was officially approved in December 2025 and is expected to be completed in 2026. A new, spacious, modern, and standardized school, meeting the regulations of the Ministry of Education and Training, is gradually taking shape in this border region of the Fatherland, realizing the dreams of generations of teachers and students.

The project not only gives the school a new look but also builds a comprehensive physical foundation, from theoretical classrooms and subject-specific rooms to a multi-purpose hall, separate dormitories for male and female students at all levels, and staff housing for teachers. More importantly, the stable boarding model opens up opportunities for safe and continuous learning for children of ethnic minorities in border areas; practically contributing to narrowing the gap in educational conditions between mountainous and lowland regions. For us, this is not just an educational project, but also a solid foundation to continue sowing the seeds of knowledge and cultivating a bright and sustainable future in the border regions of our country.

Ms. Trieu Thi Hue
Bac Sum village, Minh Tan commune

Helping students have better learning opportunities.

My child is currently studying at Minh Tan Secondary School in Minh Tan commune. The commencement of construction of the Minh Tan Ethnic Minority Boarding School (Primary and Secondary levels) is raising high expectations for a high-quality educational environment for local students. With comprehensive investment in modern equipment and standardized boarding facilities, the school promises to provide the best learning environment combined with practical training. It's not just a place to acquire knowledge, but also a safe training environment, giving us parents complete peace of mind regarding our children's living arrangements and holistic development.

Comrade Vu Son Ha
Deputy Head of the Provincial Construction Investment Project Management Board

Simultaneous construction

From the very beginning of the plan to build a multi-level boarding school, we placed special emphasis on the contractor selection process, prioritizing units with the capacity, experience, and ability to organize construction flexibly, meeting both technical requirements and the set schedule. This is a crucial prerequisite for the projects to be implemented synchronously and effectively from the outset.

Throughout the implementation process, the Project Management Board maintained close on-site supervision, requiring contractors to strictly adhere to technical standards, while proactively adjusting construction methods to suit the specific terrain and weather conditions of the border region.

All difficulties and obstacles were promptly resolved through close coordination between all parties, ensuring uninterrupted progress. Our view is to accelerate progress but absolutely not compromise quality. Each project must fully meet technical and safety standards and have long-term usability.
