According to Mr. Le Van Hoa, Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism, after reviewing the situation, the tasks and solutions in the national action plan and program have generally been implemented in line with the orientation of urgent heritage protection and commitments to UNESCO. However, the implementation process still faces some difficulties and limitations such as: limited investment resources for conservation; inadequate infrastructure for production, display, and visitor reception in craft villages; difficulties in attracting young people to participate in vocational training; unstable product markets; and a lack of uniformity in mechanisms and policies supporting artisans and the development of traditional crafts.

With the active implementation of necessary tasks, it is hoped that by the end of September, the province will have a report to submit to the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism with vivid data demonstrating the outstanding results in preserving and promoting the value of the intangible cultural heritage of Cham pottery making. This will serve as the basis for reporting to UNESCO in accordance with regulations and move towards the main goal of striving to have Cham pottery making removed from the list of intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent safeguarding and recognized as a representative intangible cultural heritage of humanity by 2028.

According to Article 29 of the 2003 UNESCO Convention, heritage sites in need of urgent protection are required to submit progress reports every four years. Therefore, from November 2022, the date UNESCO decided to inscribe Cham pottery as an intangible cultural heritage in need of urgent protection, the deadline for the first reporting cycle is the end of 2026. The report must meet stringent criteria regarding: the results of the restoration of pottery art; the growth in the number of practitioners and the number of inscribed artisans; and the positive impact of the heritage on the development of the community's life.
