The final round of the Cai Luong Academy competition took place on the evening of June 23rd, sparking controversy with the awarding of prizes to 5 champions (Bien Thuy, Tu Tri, Quach Phu Thanh, Hung Vuong, Melany Tran) and 5 runners-up (Luong Vi, Kim Cuong, Minh Thai, Tuan Kiet, Bao Ngoc).
This result came as a surprise to many. According to the original rules, there should only be one winner, but the judges, having judged the contestants to have performed exceptionally well, decided to break the rules and award five first prizes and five second prizes.

This isn't the first time the show has broken the rules. Previously, in the semi-finals (episode 11), judge People's Artist Bach Tuyet decided to break the rules and include all 10 contestants in the final round, instead of just 4 as originally planned.
Thus, all 10 finalists received prizes. With this "everyone's happy" result, many viewers are concerned that the prize money might lose its value, becoming more of a motivational and encouraging gesture.

Responding to the Traffic Newspaper about the debate after the final night, Dunal Tran - representative of the Cai Luong Academy team - said that it was not by chance that immediately after the casting round, the program had a challenging preliminary round with skills in singing, dancing, music, and acting.
In the semi-finals, with the top 10 contestants, the judges broke the rules by deciding to keep all 10 promising and talented individuals. Fortunately, the producers and especially the audience respected and supported this round by not eliminating any contestants.
According to Dunal Tran, the ultimate goal of the program isn't necessarily about winning first or second place, nor is it about finding individual singers. The program's format is to discover leading male and female actors, along with a cast of future actors with comedic, quirky, flirtatious, sentimental, and veteran characters... all the elements that make up a complete theatrical troupe.
"Therefore, right before the final round, the judges and producers met and agreed: If all 10 contestants perform well and make no mistakes, and their scores from the previous rounds are all equally high, we are ready to award prizes to all 10 of them."
With the aim of tailoring performances to each individual's voice and style, and striving to create a space for learning, networking, and performing, the Cai Luong Academy has fulfilled its aspiration of introducing a group of young and new actors, a miniature "theater troupe" with a well-defined cast of roles.
"After this season, we will continue to instill in these young players lessons in professionalism and character," added Dunal Tran.
The Cai Luong Academy Competition is a project of People's Artist Bach Tuyet. The program is structured as an academy with People's Artist Bach Tuyet as the Director, along with Cai Luong artists Chau Thanh and Thanh Hang, and musician and People's Artist Thanh Hai, who will accompany the contestants throughout the program to train and pass on their skills.
The program, consisting of 12 episodes, aims to build the image of a new generation of Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) artists who not only practice their craft but also contribute to culture.
