On June 28, Vietnam Export Import Commercial Bank (Eximbank) issued Resolution No. 216/2023 electing Ms. Do Ha Phuong, a member of the Board of Directors, to the position of Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Eximbank for the seventh term (2020 - 2025), replacing Ms. Luong Thi Cam Tu.
New Chairwoman of Eximbank's Board of Directors: Ms. Do Ha Phuong
Ms. Do Ha Phuong, born in 1984, has over 15 years of experience in the banking and finance sector. She joined Eximbank as a member of the Board of Directors in February 2022. Ms. Do Ha Phuong completed her Master's degree in Finance at Westminster University (UK) and her Bachelor's degree in Accounting at George Mason University (USA). She has held numerous senior management and executive positions at various domestic and international credit institutions.
Ms. Luong Thi Cam Tu was elected to the position of Chairwoman of the Board of Directors in February 2022, marking her second term in this role. Prior to that, she was elected in March 2019, but her tenure was short due to a lawsuit filed by her predecessor, Mr. Le Minh Quoc. Since 2019, the chairmanship of Eximbank has continuously changed hands, from Mr. Le Minh Quoc to Ms. Luong Thi Cam Tu, Mr. Cao Xuan Ninh, Mr. Yasuhiro Saitoh, then back to Ms. Luong Thi Cam Tu, and currently Ms. Do Ha Phuong. At the recent general shareholders' meeting, shareholders unanimously approved a target of total assets reaching VND 210,000 billion in 2023, a 13.5% increase; and pre-tax profit reaching VND 5,000 billion, a 35% increase, compared to 2022.
