Vietnam women's futsal team kicks off match.

At 4 PM today (May 7th), the Vietnamese women's futsal team will play their opening match in Group B against the Hong Kong (China) women's futsal team.

The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship will take place from May 6th to 17th in Hohhot (Inner Mongolia, China). The Vietnamese women's futsal team previously defeated Hong Kong (China) 2-1 at the 2013 Asian Indoor Games. Also in Group B are the Philippines and Iran.

The Vietnamese women's futsal team is ready for the 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship.

The Vietnamese women's futsal team is currently ranked 11th in the FIFA rankings, compared to Hong Kong (China) at 29th and the Philippines at 55th, so coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang's team has a strong chance of advancing along with Iran.

The 2025 Asian Women's Futsal Championship will be played in a format where the top two teams from each group (3 groups) and the two best third-placed teams advance to the quarterfinals. The two quarterfinal winners and the winner of the Asian third-place match will have 3 spots in the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup in the Philippines (mid-November). If the Philippines reach the semi-finals, the remaining 3 teams will automatically qualify for the 2025 Women's Futsal World Cup.

Coach Nguyen Dinh Hoang said: "The whole team aims to get through the group stage. Depending on each match, we will have a suitable strategy and playing style to advance as far as possible and aim to qualify for the Women's Futsal World Cup."
