According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the activities of the G7 do not reflect the interests of countries from other regions of the world.

"Obviously, the G7 is the main factor aggravating global problems. This group cannot represent the interests of other development centers, especially the countries of the Asia-Pacific region, South Asia, the Middle East, Africa and Latin America," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

According to the Russian Foreign Ministry, the G7 has entered a period of decline, turning into a breeding ground for destructive initiatives.

"The G7 countries have never had cooperation on various issues on the global agenda. Now the G7 has degraded. The G7 has turned into an incubator for nurturing destructive initiatives that undermine global stability," the Russian Foreign Ministry said.

Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov said on May 20 that the G7 decisions made at the summit in Japan were aimed at "dual containment" of Russia and China.

“Look at the decisions being discussed and adopted today in Hiroshima at the G7 summit. These decisions are aimed at a dual containment of Russia and China,” Foreign Minister Lavrov said.

In a statement at the summit, the G7 agreed to tighten sanctions on Moscow and reduce interactions with China. They also called on China to put pressure on Russia to stop its military actions and immediately withdraw its forces from Ukraine.

Mr Lavrov said the West was pressuring countries to cut trade and economic ties with Russia. However, he stressed that Moscow had the support of many allies.
