| Comrade Tran Van But, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Thuy commune, is monitoring the progress of resolving administrative procedures related to land for the people. |
Immediately after assuming the commune-level government, the People's Committee of Son Thuy commune reviewed outstanding issues that the people expected to be resolved quickly, most notably those related to land, land donation for bridge construction, economic development, and improving the lives of the people. The Party Committee, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee, and the People's Committee of the commune assigned members of the Standing Committee, members of the Party Committee, and officials to directly oversee the Party branches and villages, according to their positions and professional capabilities. Monthly, members of the Standing Committee and the Party Committee attend meetings at the village Party branches and village meetings. Leaders of the Party Committee, People's Council, and People's Committee of the commune directly oversee key villages regarding security and order, economic development, and preserving cultural identity.
Comrade Tran Van But, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Son Thuy commune, said that since the new commune-level government came into operation, the People's Committee has directed the resolution of 4 outstanding land-related cases, receiving strong support from the people. To achieve this result, during the resolution process, the Chairman of the People's Committee, along with the heads of specialized departments and the leaders of the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, personally visited households to persuade and explain the issues. In some of these cases, which involved very complex land issues, the Chairman of the People's Committee directly met with the people to understand the situation and identify obstacles in order to direct the resolution.
In implementing the policy of building the Ninh Lai - Thien Ke industrial zone, Comrade Tran Van But organized meetings with the people to publicize this policy and gain their consent for land clearance. Along with that, dozens of households whose land was to be reclaimed for the open-pit feldspar mining in Binh Man village also agreed thanks to the skillful and thorough grassroots mobilization efforts of Son Thuy commune officials, including the role of the head of the commune's Party committee and government.
Comrade Luu Trung Thanh, Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, shared: “The People's Committee and the Fatherland Front Committee of the commune, along with political and social organizations, have closely coordinated in all tasks, from assigning officials and youth union members to guide and assist people in using online public services to mobilizing people to agree to land clearance for the construction of projects in the area. To achieve this, we determined that we must be deeply involved in people's lives, close to their needs, and closely coordinate with the government.”
Comrade Dang Van Cuong, Party Secretary and head of Hoang La 2 village, said that when the village mobilized the people to donate land for the construction of Ngo Son bridge, some households had to donate land, but the mobilization efforts faced many difficulties because the households did not agree. With a working style that is close to the people, and a spirit of responsibility and dedication from the commune's leaders, especially the head of the Party Committee and the People's Committee of the commune, who directly went to the people to mobilize and explain, the obstacles were resolved. To date, the bridge has been completed and put into use on schedule.”
At the Son Thuy Commune Public Administrative Service Center, hundreds of administrative procedures for the people are received and processed daily, and to date, 100% of these procedures have been resolved on time. The center has six staff members and specialists in various fields. To best serve the people, the Commune People's Committee has invested in expanding the center's area, making it spacious and well-equipped.
The positive signals from Son Thuy show that when officials are truly close to the people, listen to the people, and act in the legitimate interests of the people, all difficulties and obstacles can be overcome. The experience from Son Thuy also demonstrates that reforming the administrative apparatus should not only focus on organization, but must be affirmed through practical actions, through a transformation in service mindset and public service style. This is the path to building a truly effective and sustainable administration.
