Given the unique characteristic of having a large number of ethnic minority youth, in recent years, the Executive Committee of the Dinh Hoa Commune Youth Union has intensified propaganda and education , innovated the content and form of activities, and created a favorable environment for ethnic minority youth to participate in Youth Union and Association activities, thereby promoting the pioneering and creative role of youth in building and developing their homeland.
The work of disseminating information and raising awareness among union members and young people has been emphasized. According to Danh Huu Hanh, Secretary of the Dinh Hoa Commune Youth Union, uniting and gathering ethnic minority youth is only effective when the Youth Union organization pays attention to the legitimate needs and interests of young people. Besides regular movements, the Commune Youth Union focuses on organizing specific activities that are appropriate to the ethnic cultural identity, thereby enhancing the prestige and influence of the Youth Union and Youth Association among ethnic minority youth.
Youth Union activities have been reformed to better align with the needs, interests, professional skills, and occupations of young people. Many effective club, team, and group models have been established and maintained, contributing to improving the material and spiritual lives of ethnic minority youth union members. To date, the Dinh Hoa Commune Youth Union maintains two clubs: a traditional five-tone music club with 28 members, a Ro Bam dance club with 15 members, and a youth cooperative for fish farming.
The Standing Committee of the Commune Youth Union proactively advises the local Party Committee and government to create favorable conditions for ethnic minority youth to study, start businesses, and establish careers. At the same time, they organize meetings and dialogues between the Party Committee, government, and youth to promptly understand their thoughts and aspirations, and resolve difficulties and obstacles in their studies, work, and production.
The movement to support young people in starting and developing businesses has been widely implemented, becoming a highlight in the work of gathering ethnic minority youth. Every year, the Commune Youth Union coordinates vocational training and job placement; and opens training courses to transfer science and technology for agricultural production. Specifically in 2025, the Commune Youth Union will organize one entrepreneurship training course for ethnic minority youth; coordinate the opening of four courses on transferring science and technology for pest and disease control in rice and agricultural production; and two courses on black snail farming and mushroom cultivation for Youth Union members and young people.

The Dinh Hoa Commune Youth Union has developed many economic models linked to loan support and guidance on effective business practices. Models that provide stable income, such as mushroom cultivation, fish farming, irrigation, pineapple cultivation, and eel farming, are gradually being replicated. Currently, the unit manages 20 savings and loan groups with 986 borrowing households, with a total outstanding loan balance of over 28 billion VND.
On major national and local holidays and political events, the Dinh Hoa Commune Youth Union organizes numerous cultural, artistic, sports, and folk game activities, attracting a large number of union members and young people to participate. This has led to the recruitment of many new members, bringing the total number of active members to 825 across 36 branches. The Commune Youth Union also focuses on caring for and supporting disadvantaged ethnic minority youth, ensuring they can study, work, and sustainably overcome poverty.
Thanks to the synchronized and effective implementation of solutions, the work of uniting and gathering ethnic minority youth in Dinh Hoa commune has achieved many positive results. The percentage of young people participating in the Youth Union is increasing, and many exemplary young people have emerged in labor, production, study, and work. Mr. Danh Quang Hien, residing in Thanh Hoa 2 hamlet, shared: “By participating in the Youth Union, I have been supported and given opportunities to borrow capital to develop my economy and buy and sell pork, thanks to which my family's life is becoming more stable. The commune's Youth Union also organizes many practical activities to promote the role of youth in preserving and developing the cultural values of the Khmer people.”
Building on the achievements, the Dinh Hoa Commune Youth Union continues to innovate its content and methods of operation, focusing on being closer to and more relevant to the lives of ethnic minority youth. Through this, it not only improves the quality of youth solidarity and mobilization but also contributes to inspiring aspirations and a sense of responsibility in preserving ethnic cultural identity, developing the economy, and building a more prosperous, beautiful, and civilized Dinh Hoa homeland.
