Gen Z and their advantages
Gen Z, or Generation Z, refers to the group of people born between 1995 and 2012 (some say between 1997 and 2015). The most widely accepted age range is between 1997 and 2012. The majority of Gen Z are children of Gen X (born between 1965 and 1979), the generation following Millennials (Generation Y) and preceding Generation Alpha (α).
According to the General Statistics Office, by 2025, Gen Z is expected to contribute one-third of the working-age population in Vietnam. Once Gen Z commits to a company, it will be a tremendous source of innovative breakthroughs for businesses. Therefore, understanding how to leverage and harness this energy is a crucial challenge.
The International Labour Organization (ILO) predicts that in the coming years, the number of new jobs created by digital transformation will be seven times greater than the number of jobs lost.
By 2045, it is estimated that approximately 10 million new jobs will be created, primarily in modern service industries and a number of new jobs in the manufacturing sector. These characteristics make Gen Z a highly effective labor force for businesses.
Opportunities always come with challenges in a fiercely competitive job market. Because they had early access to the internet, Generation Z easily embraces technological innovation. When they enter internships or work at companies, especially those in the media, technology, and digital sectors, Gen Z can easily keep up with the demands of the job.
Furthermore, businesses don't need to spend excessive time and resources training them on technological tricks. Gen Z has incredibly unique and surprisingly effective content creation ideas.
It can be said that this generation was born and raised in an era of rapid development in information technology. They possess the ability and skills to access, process, and share information quickly and efficiently.
Therefore, Gen Z will be a crucial factor in the future labor market. They will be able to adapt quickly to the development of new technologies, bringing innovation, creativity, and efficiency to various professional fields.
Through my interactions with many young people, I've noticed two distinct differences among Generation Z: an open mindset and a spirit of independence and initiative. Exposure to diverse cultures in a globalized world has given Gen Z a more open perspective and made it easier for them to integrate with foreign knowledge and culture. This allows them to easily break free from traditional constraints and reach out to the world.
Furthermore, the digital age has created many opportunities in several new technological fields, and Gen Z is easily adaptable to these trends. As a result, many young people have successfully started their own businesses, helping Gen Z become more confident in pursuing their ambitions.
The biggest opportunity for Gen Z right now is probably the rise of new, highly creative technology fields and professions compared to traditional jobs requiring skilled craftsmanship.

Youth is a priceless asset.
Creativity is something Gen Z is very "abundant" in. However, the challenges from these career trends are also significant. Rapid turnover, fierce competition, a constantly changing labor market, and the development of artificial intelligence and robotics are some of the issues Gen Z is facing.
Gen Z is creative, dynamic, and highly adaptable to new technologies. They can leverage their digital skills to create new products and services that meet the needs of modern society. They can collaborate with partners worldwide, expand markets, and find more opportunities.
Furthermore, in my opinion, a major strength of Gen Z is their youth; mistakes can be corrected more easily. They will have more opportunities to experience and implement their ideas before choosing a longer-term path in the future.
Gen Z lives in a volatile and competitive world. To adapt to today's job market, young people need to adjust and equip themselves with certain skills.
Specifically, young people need to be able to adapt to the rapid and constant changes in technology, possess a flexible spirit, and be ready to learn and continuously update their knowledge. To apply this knowledge effectively, Gen Z also needs to cultivate critical thinking skills and generate innovative ideas.
In particular, Gen Z needs to be able to work in teams with colleagues, partners, and clients worldwide. Young people of this generation need to hone their communication, listening, and respect for differences skills. In challenging situations, these skills will be invaluable in helping them find the right support.
Finally, Gen Z also needs the courage to experiment, fail, and learn from mistakes. Youth is an invaluable asset, and young people need to be able to manage their time effectively to ensure work-life balance. They need clear goals, self-assessment skills to improve themselves, and most importantly, skills to take care of their mental and emotional health.
