At the end of the trading session, the price of Robusta coffee on the London floor at 3:20 a.m. on December 13, 2024 had a strong increase after a previous sharp decrease of 33 - 55 USD/ton, fluctuating between 5019 - 5194 USD/ton. Specifically, the delivery period for January 2025 is 5194 USD/ton (up 33 USD/ton); the delivery period for March 2025 is 5152 USD/ton (up 51 USD/ton); the delivery period for May 2025 is 5095 USD/ton (up 53 USD/ton) and the delivery period for July 2025 is 5019 USD/ton (up 55 USD/ton).
Similarly, the price of Arabica coffee on the New York floor on the morning of December 13, 2024, also had green when all prices increased simultaneously but not significantly compared to the previous trading period, the increase was from 1.05 - 1.55 cents/lb, fluctuating from 307.60 - 321.25 cents/lb. Specifically, the delivery period for March 2025 was 321.25 cents/lb (up 1.05 cents/lb); the delivery period for May 2025 was 319.00 cents/lb (up 1.20 cents/lb); the delivery period for July 2025 was 314.45 cents/lb (up 1.40 cents/lb) and the delivery period for September 2025 was 307.60 cents/lb (up 1.55 cents/lb).

At the end of the trading session, the price of Brazilian Arabica coffee on the morning of December 13, 2024 increased or decreased depending on the trading term, the increase was from 1.85 - 4 USD/ton (for terms of December 24, May 25, July 25). Specifically, the delivery term of December 2024 was 402.00 USD/ton (up 4 USD/ton); the delivery term of May 2025 was 397.75 USD/ton (up 1.60 USD/ton) and the delivery term of July 2025 was 391.60 USD/ton (up 1.85 USD/ton). The delivery term of March 25 alone was 404.50 USD/ton (down 4.05 USD/ton).
In the domestic market, according to information from Giacaphe.com, the average coffee price today, December 13, 2024, is 124,100 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND/kg compared to the previous day.
The highest coffee purchase price in key regions of the Central Highlands ( Dak Lak , Lam Dong, Gia Lai, Dak Nong, Kon Tum) was recorded at 124,200 VND/kg. Specifically, today's coffee price in Dak Lak is 124,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND compared to yesterday. Coffee price in Lam Dong is 122,700 VND/kg, an increase of 700 VND compared to yesterday's transaction price. Meanwhile, coffee price in Gia Lai today is 124,000 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND compared to yesterday's transaction price. Coffee price in Dak Nong today is 124,200 VND/kg, an increase of 1,000 VND compared to yesterday. Meanwhile, coffee price in Kon Tum province is purchased at 123,700 VND/kg, an increase of 700 VND/kg.

Meanwhile, traders said unseasonal rains have returned to Vietnam, the top Robusta producer, which could further disrupt the harvest and raise fresh quality concerns. Robusta and Arabica are somewhat interchangeable, so shortages of one could boost demand for the other.
According to forecasts, world coffee prices on December 14, 2024, after a relatively strong increase on December 13, 2024, are likely to continue to increase sharply on Robusta exchanges in London, Arabica in New York and Arabica Brazil. Therefore, domestic coffee prices are also forecast to reach 125,000 VND/kg.
Ms. Nguyen Vi Ha - Deputy Director of Nong Nguyen Company Limited, specializing in purchasing coffee in Di Linh town, Lam Dong province, said that people are afraid to close their profits, combined with the complicated weather in Lam Dong due to heavy rain with no signs of stopping, this has seriously affected the harvesting and drying of coffee, leading to anxiety for both people and purchasing businesses due to concerns that the quality of the coffee will not meet requirements.
“It is very likely that in the next one or two days there will be a local coffee shortage, leading to businesses having no goods to sell. Therefore, I predict that the price of coffee tomorrow, December 14, 2024, will continue to increase, but the level of increase is very difficult to predict,” said Ms. Nguyen Vi Ha.
