Rice price today September 10: Rice price remains stable

Popular rice varieties such as OM 18, Dai Thom 8, Nang Hoa 9 remain around 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg, with slow transactions.

Domestic rice price

Raw rice in An Giang is differentiated, in which OM 380 and OM 18 fluctuate at 7,400 - 7,500 VND/kg and 8,400 - 8,600 VND/kg respectively. Other types such as IR 504, CL 555, OM 5451 keep stable prices from 7,700 - 7,900 VND/kg.

Finished rice OM 380 fluctuates at 8,800 - 9,000 VND/kg, IR 504 at 9,500 - 9,700 VND/kg. At the retail market, the prices of rice varieties are stable: Nang Nhen 28,000 VND/kg, Huong Lai 22,000 VND/kg, Thai fragrant rice 20,000 - 22,000 VND/kg, Jasmine 16,000 - 18,000 VND/kg.

Rice prices today recorded stability in many localities in the Mekong Delta.

IR 50404 rice (fresh) fluctuates at 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg, OM 5451 (fresh) at 5,900 - 6,000 VND/kg, OM 18 (fresh) reaches 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg, Dai Thom 8 (fresh) maintains the price at 6,100 - 6,200 VND/kg, Nang Hoa 9 around 6,000 - 6,200 VND/kg, and the remaining OM 308 (fresh) fluctuates at 5,700 - 5,900 VND/kg.

By-product price

Rice by-products remain stable. OM 504 broken rice fluctuates at 7,300 - 7,400 VND/kg, bran remains at 8,000 - 9,000 VND/kg, and rice husks are around 1,400 - 1,500 VND/kg.

Export market

In the international market, Vietnam's rice export prices have decreased sharply compared to last weekend.

Fragrant rice 5% broken decreased by 5 USD to 450-455 USD/ton, Jasmine decreased by 12 USD to 533-537 USD/ton. 25% broken rice remained at 367 USD/ton, while 100% broken rice decreased to 319-323 USD/ton.

Although Vietnamese rice prices are still high for some varieties, this decrease still creates great competitive pressure when compared with regional rivals.
