With RAM prices soaring, many users are understandably worried, especially those planning to upgrade their computers. The main reason for this is the explosion of artificial intelligence (AI), which has led major companies like Samsung, SK Hynix, and Micron to shift their production towards high-bandwidth memory (HBM) to support the growing demand for AI chips.

The AI boom has led to a shortage of memory for personal computers and a short-term surge in prices. However, according to a report from Wccftech , RAM prices are likely to fall in the second half of next year thanks to expanded production by Chinese companies.
Many positive signs from Chinese RAM manufacturers.
Kye-hyun Kyung, former head of Samsung's chip and display division, said at a South Korean tech forum that if investments in Chinese memory manufacturing pay off, increased supply could help lower RAM prices.
One of the prominent Chinese companies in this field is ChangXin Memory Technologies (CXMT), which offers DDR5 speeds up to 8,000 MT/second and is expanding its production scale. In addition, other manufacturers such as Jiahe Jinwei are also increasing their production of data center memory.
Notably, Corsair, a well-known brand in the computer component industry, is said to have begun using memory chips manufactured by CXMT in its Vengeance DDR5 modules.
If China can capitalize on this opportunity to supply a plentiful supply of memory chips to the market, RAM prices could fall next year, offering hope to those planning to build PCs but hesitant due to cost. Chinese RAM is gradually becoming a competitor to global brands, and increased supply often leads to better prices. However, users may have to wait until the second half of 2027 to see a real price drop.
