Driven by a passion for the community.
Few people know that the "Healing Village" didn't originate from a simple tourism business idea, but rather from the years of dedication to supporting children with special needs by Mr. Tran Hoang Minh. A graduate of Sociology, specializing in Community Development , Mr. Minh has worked with many autistic children and children from disadvantaged backgrounds, and he realized that supporting these children needed to be done in a healthy living environment close to nature.
Mr. Tran Hoang Minh shared: “I realized that, in addition to depending on school hours or intervention methods, a child's development is linked to their living environment, family connection, and the mental state of their parents. Therefore, I want to create a space where people can slow down, be closer to nature, and thereby find balance for themselves and their families.”
From that idea, the "Healing Village" was created with the message "Healthy Body - Peaceful Mind - Open Mind". Here, visitors can immerse themselves in the pristine natural landscape and experience activities such as: bathing in streams, boating, camping, meditation, yoga, caring for livestock, participating in agricultural production, and learning about the lives of local ethnic minorities. The accommodations are designed in a rustic and welcoming style; meals use local ingredients, contributing to providing visitors with an authentic experience of the Dam Rong 2 region.
Linking experiential tourism with OCOP products.
In addition to leveraging its scenic advantages, the "Healing Village" also incorporates local agriculture and distinctive products into its tourism experience, such as perilla tea, which has achieved a 3-star OCOP (One Commune One Product) rating. From a familiar plant in daily life, perilla is grown naturally and processed into tea to serve health care needs. Besides touring and enjoying the tea, visitors can learn about the production process, from planting and harvesting to processing and packaging.
According to Mr. Tran Hoang Minh, linking OCOP products with experiential activities helps enhance the value of local agricultural products. "When tourists directly witness the production process, they will better understand the value of labor and the story behind each product. This is also an effective way to promote local specialties," Mr. Minh said.
According to Nguyen Van Chinh, Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dam Rong 2 commune, the locality has great potential to develop products associated with community tourism such as coffee, durian, honey pineapple, mulberry, traditional handicrafts, and local cuisine. When connected within a complete value chain, these products generate additional revenue and contribute to preserving the local cultural identity.

“The Healing Village is a suitable direction for rural economic development linked to the construction of new rural areas. In recent times, experiential tourism and community tourism have increasingly attracted the attention of tourists. Models like the “Healing Village” will contribute to diversifying tourism products, while spreading the image of the land and people of Dam Rong 2 to tourists inside and outside the province,” informed the Vice Chairman of the People's Committee of Dam Rong 2 commune.
With its blend of nature, culture, green agriculture, and community values, the "Healing Village" is gradually becoming a highlight in the rural development journey in Dam Rong 2. Local leaders consider the village a place where tourists can find peace and a promising opportunity to awaken indigenous values, contributing to sustainable rural economic development.
