As of 8:45 AM on March 15th, the price of domestic gold bars continues to trade around 180-183 million VND/ounce (buying price - selling price) after a sharp drop at the end of last week.
Specifically, Bao Tin Minh Chau gold is listed at 180,000,000 VND/ounce for buying and 183,000,000 VND/ounce for selling, a decrease of 1,800,000 VND/ounce in both directions compared to the previous session.
At the DOJI system, the prevailing gold price is 179,650,000 VND/ounce for buying and 182,700,000 VND/ounce for selling. Meanwhile, SJC gold is traded at approximately 179,600,000 VND/ounce for buying and 182,630,000 VND/ounce for selling, a decrease of about 2,200,000 VND/ounce compared to the previous session.
Other brands such as Mi Hong, PNJ, Ngoc Tham, and Phu Quy also listed gold prices around 179 - 180.6 million VND/ounce for buying and 182.4 - 183 million VND/ounce for selling.
The spread between buying and selling prices continues to remain at 2-3 million VND/ounce, reflecting the cautious approach of gold trading businesses amidst volatile market conditions. This large gap also significantly increases transaction costs for investors.
In the gold ring and jewelry segment, prices also adjusted in line with the downward trend of gold bars. SJC 99.99 gold rings (grade 1 tael) were traded at approximately 179.3 million VND/tael for buying and 182.3 million VND/tael for selling, while 99.99% gold jewelry fluctuated between 177.3 and 180.8 million VND/tael.
On the global market, the spot gold price closed the week around $5,017.7 per ounce, down about $76 from the previous session and marking the second consecutive week of decline.
