2024 Youth Pickleball Tournament

A GREAT TOURNAMENT WITH ATTRACTIVE PRIZES

Pickleball is a relatively new sport in Vietnam, but it's experiencing rapid growth and attracting a large number of players of all ages. Drawing on years of experience organizing sporting events, Thanh Nien Newspaper is planning the 2024 Thanh Nien Pickleball Tournament - VINFAST Cup, with VINFAST as the main sponsor. The tournament will take place at Lan Anh Club (291 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Ward 12, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City) on July 6th and 7th. Despite being the first time organizing the event, it has attracted a large number of registrations. After receiving and screening applications, the organizing committee has selected over 350 athletes to compete in 7 diverse events. The team competition features 8 strong teams: Baby Shark, Picknis, DKN Store, Brotherhood Pickleball, Pickle Passion Club, Tam Giang, D-joy, and Binh Minh Tai. The team champion will receive the VINFAST Championship Cup along with a prize of 30 million VND, the runner-up will receive 15 million VND and a silver medal, and the third-place team will receive 5 million VND and a bronze medal.

The 2024 Youth Pickleball Tournament - VINFAST Cup brings together players who have won many international awards, such as Truong Vinh Hien ( left ) and Le Ba Thanh Xuan ( right ).

Top Vietnamese tennis players such as Truong Vinh Hien, Trinh Linh Giang, Ly Minh Triet, Huynh Chi Khuong, Dang Kim Ngan, Tran Thi Kim Loi… who have won numerous domestic and international titles will compete in the top-tier Super Cup event with a total prize pool of 35 million VND, plus gifts. The Open event, with the highest number of registered participants, promises to create many surprises and excitement (prize money for gold, silver, and bronze medals is 10 million VND, 5 million VND, and 2 million VND respectively). In addition, the organizers also have children's events (under 13 years old) and men's doubles newbie, women's doubles newbie, and mixed doubles newbie events for beginners. Notably, the organizers have decided to add prizes of 3 million VND, 2 million VND, and 1 million VND for each gold, silver, and bronze medal to encourage participation in the free-entry events.

AIMING FOR A HIGH-QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL PLAYING FIELD

At 2:30 PM today, July 4th, the announcement and draw ceremony for the 2024 Thanh Nien Pickleball Tournament - VINFAST Cup will take place at the Thanh Nien Newspaper editorial office. The ceremony will be conducted by a panel of experts with the highest professional decision-making authority. The panel includes journalist Ly Minh Tan (Sports Department of Thanh Nien Newspaper, Chairman of the panel), and members Huynh Phu Qui (pickleball coach), Luu Khai Van (pickleball referee), and Ly Minh Triet (pickleball coach) in advisory roles.

To ensure the faireest possible outcome for the tournament, the Organizing Committee has made every effort to carefully review the competition to create opportunities for truly novice athletes to compete in the men's doubles newbie, women's doubles newbie, and mixed doubles newbie categories. A highlight of the tournament is the series of prizes, incentives, and gifts, thanks to the contributions of our sponsoring partners. After completing the registration process, each athlete receives an athlete card along with gift packages including a 1 million VND voucher from RTD REHAP; a 10% discount on medical services at Nam Saigon International General Hospital; and instructions on scanning QR codes and receiving competition photos from Vietnam Sport Photo. In addition, the Organizing Committee has also purchased insurance for all athletes, organizers, and referees participating in the tournament.

The opening ceremony will take place at 10:00 AM on July 6th, and the closing awards ceremony will be held at 8:00 PM on July 7th, at Lan Anh Club (291 Cach Mang Thang Tam Street, Ward 12, District 10, Ho Chi Minh City).
