Food sampling is a regular part of inspection and monitoring activities.
Mr. Luong Van Trung, Deputy Head of the Provincial Department of Agricultural, Forestry and Fisheries Product Quality Management, said: In October, the Department of Agriculture and Environment coordinated with functional forces to collect 32 samples for food safety monitoring. Cumulatively from the beginning of the year to date, 165 samples have been collected, including 33 tea samples, 27 vegetable samples, 6 edible mushroom samples, 27 fruit samples, 5 dried bamboo shoot samples, 5 rice samples; 5 honey samples, 9 fresh meat samples, 15 pork samples, 8 chicken samples; 4 dried meat samples, 13 sausage and ham samples, 4 dried seafood samples; and 4 freshwater fish samples.
To date, out of 129 samples tested, 6 were found to be substandard. Authorities have conducted traceability investigations as per regulations, requiring the facility to rectify the issues, improve product processing control, and maintain complete information as required.
To ensure food safety, since the beginning of the year, the Department of Agriculture and Environment has assessed and classified 63 establishments (49 establishments met the standards, 14 establishments did not); and issued food safety certificates to 26 establishments.
Simultaneously, conduct 5 inter-agency inspections during the Lunar New Year of the Year of the Snake and the Spring Festival season of 2025; during the "Month of Action for Food Safety" in 2025; and monitor and control against smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and food products and goods under the management authority of the Ministry of Agriculture and Environment.

Accordingly, on-site inspections were conducted at 61 establishments, revealing 7 violations of food safety regulations. The relevant documents have been handed over to local authorities for handling in accordance with regulations.
Mr. Duong Son Ha, Deputy Director of the Department of Agriculture and Environment, said: Inter-agency inspection teams conducted rapid tests on nitrate content in 90 samples of vegetables and fruits at several market locations in the northern communes, and took 7 samples of agricultural products for analysis of food safety indicators such as the use of food additives, pesticide residues, and heavy metals. Fortunately, all samples met the requirements.
Along with inter-agency inspection teams, specialized inspections also help effectively monitor food safety for agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products. Through two inspections of 21 food production and business establishments, the authorities reported that no violations were found.
It can be affirmed that inspection and monitoring activities combined with public awareness campaigns have contributed significantly to improving the quality of agricultural, forestry, and aquatic products, ensuring food safety in the area. These activities are being further strengthened by relevant authorities and agencies, especially during the end of the year and the Lunar New Year 2026 – a time when the demand for food in the area increases significantly.
