The arduous journey by ferry to school.

The heavy rains and flooding on November 16th caused the Phu Kien wooden bridge to be washed away, cutting off the familiar transportation route for thousands of residents in Xuan Ngoc, Hon Nghe 1, and Hon Nghe 2 residential areas (Tay Nha Trang ward). Since then, students from Vinh Ngoc Primary School and Cao Thang Secondary School have had to travel more than 10km to get to school, wasting a lot of time. Seeing this, Mr. Huynh Quang Hau (Xuan Ngoc residential area) used his family's boat to transport students from the north bank to the south bank to get to school, carrying about 5-10 students per trip, with the crossing fee negotiable by the parents. However, because it is an informal means of transportation, the boat owner does not provide enough life jackets for the students, compromising their safety.

Currently, Mr. Nguyen Xuan Thuan, the owner of the Phu Kien wooden bridge, is hiring workers to salvage usable steel beams and wooden planks to build a temporary bridge. However, this is expected to take about a month.

Recently, the Provincial People's Committee approved the Phu Kien Bridge construction project using reinforced concrete, with a total investment of nearly 600 billion VND. It is hoped that the project will soon be started to fulfill the long-awaited aspirations of local people, contributing to socio -economic development and improving urban aesthetics.
