Quang Nam education creates quality breakthrough

Quang Nameducation has continuously created miracles in the national excellent student (HS) playground in recent years. Starting from the 2022 - 2023 school year, this is the year Quang Nam has created a record in the number of awards since 1997 with 42 national excellent student awards (previously it fluctuated around 30 awards).

Then, at the National Excellent Student Competition for the 2023-2024 school year, Quang Nam students continued to set new milestones in both quantity and quality after achieving a total of 71 prizes, including 2 first prizes, 11 second prizes, 17 third prizes and 41 consolation prizes.

Not stopping there, Quang Nam once again asserted itself by winning 2 first prizes, 12 second prizes, 28 third prizes and 28 consolation prizes in the National Excellent Student Competition for the 2024-2025 school year; the quality of the prizes compared to the previous year increased by 1 second prize and 11 third prizes. Notably, for the first time, there were 2 first prizes in Mathematics.

In particular, for the past 3 consecutive years, Quang Nam students have appeared in international playgrounds and immediately brought back resounding success. In 2023, Do Phu Quoc - a Chemistry 11 student of Le Thanh Tong High School for the Gifted excellently won the gold medal at the Abu Reikhan Beruniy International Chemistry Olympiad and became the first face of Quang Nam to be honored in the international arena.

In 2024, in the more “difficult” challenge of the International Chemistry Olympiad ICHO, Do Phu Quoc once again shined with a silver medal. In 2025, Quang Nam education will be even more glorious with the outstanding achievements of twin brothers Nguyen Tri Hien - Nguyen Tri Hau (grade 11 specialized in Mathematics, Nguyen Binh Khiem High School for the Gifted).

After winning first prize in the national excellent student competition for the 2024-2025 school year, two young talents from Phu Ninh continue to bring good news to Quang Nam and the whole country with two gold medals at the 2025 International Mathematical Olympiad (held in Turkmenistan). Currently in grade 11, Tri Hien and Tri Hau's outstanding math abilities still have many opportunities to explore and improve their achievements in larger playgrounds.

Creating a spectacular breakthrough is the result of huge investment in discovering and nurturing excellent students in recent years. The Department of Education and Training and the two high schools Nguyen Binh Khiem (Tam Ky City) and Le Thanh Tong (Hoi An City) have annual scientific and quality training strategies, motivating the team of teachers and students to be determined to bring back high achievements worthy of the homeland of "five phoenixes flying together".

Along with that is the timely encouragement and rewards from the province, industry, and businesses. Thanks to that, it has created a breakthrough in the excellent student movement, making Quang Nam one of the localities with high achievements in the national and international excellent student playground.
