Exchange and performance of Cham art at Cham tower: More products to serve visitors
Department of Culture and Sports organized an exchange program, performing Cham art at the Doi tower and Banh It tower from July 5 to 10.7 with the participation of the Cham folklore art troupe in Ninh Thuan province. This is a step to create momentum for the Culture industry to create more new products to serve tourists.
Binh Dinh province currently has 8 clusters/14 Cham towers, which are a unique cultural tourism resource. Over the years, from many different sources, the province has invested in repairing, embellishing and upgrading infrastructure and facilities to preserve Cham towers, aiming to serve tourism.
According to Mr. Bui Tinh, Director of the Provincial Museum, the organization of more programs of exchanges and performances of Cham art has both improved the effectiveness of communication and promotion of the monument and created more products for visitors to have more experiences when visiting the Cham towers in the province.

During the days of the Cham performing arts program at the Doi tower and Banh It tower, there were a lot of people and tourists coming to see. Do Thanh Ngoc, a tourist from Ninh Binh province, shared: “For the first time, my family traveled to Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh to visit many beautiful monuments and landscapes, in which everyone in my family liked the ruins of Banh It tower. When I met the Cham folk art troupe of Ninh Thuan province performing with many special performances, everyone in my family considered themselves lucky. I haven't left yet, but my family has made an appointment to return to Quy Nhon - Binh Dinh to discover more interesting things that have only been introduced."
Not only tourists from far away, the locals themselves are also very eager. Mr. Tran Minh Phu, from Dong Da ward, Quy Nhon city, said: “My house is near the Twin Towers. When I heard that there was a Cham art show here, my family immediately invited each other to see it. Binh Dinh has many beautiful Cham towers, other provinces like Ninh Thuan, Khanh Hoa and Phu Yen also have Cham towers and they regularly organize art shows to serve tourists, but I don't have many. I hope in the future, at the Cham towers of Binh Dinh, I will have more art performances for people and tourists to enjoy."
Cham artists in Ninh Thuan province perform not using the form of "theatricalization" but perform with a natural, close-to-real-life style through the lively Cham dance and folk songs between the sound of harmony in the sound of Ghinang drums, Paranung drums, Saranai trumpets, and the image of Cham girls weaving brocade and pottery making viewers immersed in an attractive cultural space.
Artist Van Quang Phu Doan, Head of the Cham folklore art troupe in Ninh Thuan province, said: “Along with regular performances at Po Klong Garai tower (Ninh Thuan province), we also toured in many provinces and cities. This is the first time we come to Binh Dinh to promote, exchange and introduce Cham culture. I hope that Binh Dinh and Ninh Thuan will be more connected together to preserve and promote Champa cultural heritage."
Initially, the organization of Cham art performances at the Doi tower and Banh It tower has been well received, here the Department of Culture and Information will organize more activities at the Cham towers. Mr. Ta Xuan Chanh, Director of the Department of Culture and Information, said: In the long term, the Department will invite Cham folk artists from Ninh Thuan province to Binh Dinh to teach performances to the Cham H'roi people in Van Canh district to have a local performing force. We will also advise the Provincial People's Committee to implement the Project on socialization of management and exploitation of the Cham tower relic system, the construction of products of Cham art performances, Binh Dinh cuisine, food and beverage services, entertainment and entertainment, etc. to further promote the value of the Cham towers in association with the development of cultural tourism.
