The author of the book is Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Hoa - a psychology expert trained in Russia and France - writing from real-life experience, with solid academic knowledge and a friendly, intimate, sharing style.
In the book "Tell Me You Need Me," the author carefully introduces new and optimistic research on people with depression. The author goes straight to describing the paradox, that people with depression are not completely "unmotivated"; that the more proactive they are in their treatment, the better their chances of recovery.
That what seems weak actually hides a great inner strength - the ability to analyze, remember, and concentrate beyond measure. And that, instead of "managing" the patient, the best thing we can do is give them autonomy - along with trust and a safe space to recover.
According to Anbooks' assessment, the book is a valuable scientific reference with 500 citations from international scientific studies with the latest research updates.
More meaningfully, the author confided that he did not intend to write a scientific book. Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Hoa said: "I want to aim for something simple, how parents can stay with their children in the darkest days."

Associate Professor, Dr. Nguyen Phuong Hoa is a long-time expert in the field of psychology in Vietnam. She was the Head of the Department of Experimental and Applied Psychology, Institute of Psychology (now Institute of Sociology and Psychology) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
Author Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa is known for two published books also on the topic of helping parents accompany their children to overcome depression: "There is a pain called depression" and "When dark clouds come" (published in 2018 - 2019).
