Closely familiar with the local area.
Dao Trung village is a purely agricultural area, and the busy nature of farming work initially presented many obstacles in gathering members and implementing women's movements. Faced with this reality, drawing on her more than 20 years of experience in women's association work, Ms. Tran Thi Hang determined that to deepen the movement, leaders must always be at the forefront, adhering to the principle of "actions speak louder than words" to build trust among members.
Ms. Hang proactively categorized her members, persistently going "door to door" to listen to their concerns. During meetings, she incorporated knowledge about healthcare, law, and the implementation of resolutions from women's congresses at all levels. Thanks to her sincerity, she successfully recruited 20 new members, achieving 100% of her target. Her most notable achievement was the effective implementation of the "Building a Family with 5 No's and 3 Cleanliness Standards" campaign. She encouraged members to maintain cleanliness in the village, reduce the use of plastic bags, and sort waste at the source.
In particular, she mobilized members to contribute 300,000 VND per household to illuminate 5km of rural roads and festival streets. She also coordinated efforts to build a 100% lighting system at night, contributing to reducing theft and ensuring security and order. Furthermore, she coordinated with the people to contribute funds for the concrete paving of 100% of village roads and the construction of sturdy fences for 70% of households.

Speaking about the dedicated Women's Union official, Ms. Phan Thi Thanh, a member of the Women's Union branch in Dao Trung village, shared: "Ms. Hang is very attentive. Not only does she disseminate information at village meetings, but she also visits our homes to guide us, from how to sort waste to how to access loans for economic development. Her enthusiasm and exemplary behavior have inspired us women to actively participate in the village and commune's movements."
Sharing her work experience, Ms. Hang said: “Initially, there were some difficulties, but as the branch leader, I had to be exemplary and attentive so that the women would trust me. I always treat the members' affairs as if they were my own, persistently campaigning to help them escape poverty and beautify the village roads. Seeing my homeland change and gaining the trust of the people, I will continue to contribute to the movement as long as I have the strength.”
Spreading the spirit of solidarity
Recognizing that helping members develop economically is a key task, Ms. Hang actively coordinated and organized training courses on livestock farming techniques, safe vegetable production, and vocational training. She advised on the establishment of the "Safe Vegetable Production and Business" model with 30 members; and the "Women Helping Women" model with 20 participating members.
As the head of the Social Policy Bank's loan group, she manages the capital strictly, preventing overdue debts. Using this capital, many members have boldly invested, notably in vegetable farming models generating 5-6 million VND/month in income, or in service businesses earning over 120 million VND/year.
During the COVID-19 pandemic, she and her local branch mobilized essential supplies and 250 jars of "compassionate" salt worth over 60 million VND to support the South. She also directly cooked meals for the checkpoint personnel and assisted with vaccinations in the locality. In addition, Ms. Hang is always exemplary in her lifestyle, and her family has received the "Culturally Advanced Family" title for many years. She actively participates in mediation, promptly resolving conflicts in the village; and focuses on improving the spiritual lives of women through cultural and sports activities.
Under her leadership, the Women's Association of Dao Trung village won numerous first and second prizes at volleyball competitions, "Living Happily, Living Healthily," and "Family Meal" events at the commune level from 2020-2024. The Chairwoman of the Women's Union of Trieu Co commune, Nguyen Thi Quynh Huong, affirmed: "Ms. Hang is an energetic and responsible Women's Union official. Her contributions have helped the Women's Association of Dao Trung village achieve outstanding performance for many consecutive years."
For her efforts and positive contributions during the 2020-2025 period, Ms. Tran Thi Hang was honored with a commendation from the People's Committee of Trieu Phong District (formerly) and the higher-level association. This is a well-deserved affirmation and recognition of the value of an association official who is always dedicated and keeps the "flame" of love and responsibility for the community alive.
