The silent "steel shield"

Captain Doan Van Chi, Party Secretary and Commander of Security Unit 1, Department of Military Security Protection (General Political Department), felt moved and proud to be included in the list of 10 outstanding young faces of the entire army in 2025 and to be nominated for the Outstanding Young Vietnamese Faces Award in 2025.

This is not only a recognition of his persistent efforts and outstanding achievements in his professional work, but also a testament to his sense of responsibility and dynamism in youth union activities and youth movements.

After graduating from the People's Security Academy ( Ministry of Public Security ) with a major in criminal investigation, Doan Van Chi was assigned to work at the Military Security Protection Department. From 2020 to the present, with his capabilities, he has held many positions, from assistant counter-intelligence officer, assistant investigator to the position of Team Leader. Captain Doan Van Chi is always clearly aware of his and his colleagues' mission to protect national security and maintain the political integrity of the Army. This is a special mission, a silent battlefront. He confided: "Counter-intelligence work does not allow for ambiguity. Every judgment must be sharp, every step must be firm, and I understand that each of my decisions not only affects an individual but can affect the safety and security of an entire system, affecting the trust of the Party, the State, and the people in the Army." With that in mind, as the commander of a reconnaissance unit, he was constantly faced with questions: How reliable is this lead? When is the right time to act? What will be the consequences if the assessment is wrong?...

Overcoming those difficulties, Captain Doan Van Chi and his teammates directly investigated, detected, and successfully prosecuted many major cases and incidents. During the course of their duties, he and his colleagues spent many sleepless nights analyzing documents and many days closely monitoring the area to track down and verify clues. The greatest pressure came from having to make crucial decisions in a very short time while ensuring absolute accuracy. For his exceptionally outstanding crime-solving achievements, he was honored with a commendation from the Prime Minister for his contributions to the task of protecting the Fatherland "from early on and from afar."

Upon investigation, we learned that, in addition to his professional duties, Captain Doan Van Chi actively participates in youth union activities and movements. He also actively participates in scientific research and was awarded first prize in the 24th Youth Innovation Award in the Army for his research topic "Preventing the Leakage and Loss of State Secrets." This research was subsequently compiled into a professional monograph, serving research and application throughout the army.
