"Igniting" the youth movement
Having been involved in the youth movement for nearly 10 years, Mai Van Dan, Secretary of the Tien Phuoc Commune Youth Union, is widely known as a dynamic and responsible youth union official dedicated to the community. Based on his practical experience at the grassroots level, he and the Commune Youth Union proactively advise the Party Committee and local government on implementing many specific models and projects that meet the needs of the people.
In 2024, he mobilized youth union members to build 200 meters of rural concrete road in Phu Xuan village, contributing to improving transportation for the people. In addition, he mobilized social resources to support three disadvantaged households in repairing their houses. In 2025, the commune's Youth Union mobilized various resources to donate hundreds of gift packages to help disadvantaged families and support people affected by natural disasters.
Models such as the youth-managed "Bright - Green - Clean - Beautiful - Safe" route and the "3 No's - 3 Yes's" initiative, regularly implemented by Mr. Dan, contribute to building a more attractive rural landscape and spreading a positive lifestyle among young people.
Mr. Dan is also close to and supportive of students and young people in their studies and entrepreneurship. The commune's Youth Union regularly provides scholarships, bicycles, and books to support poor but studious students. Many startup ideas from local youth receive loan support and are introduced to participate in creative competitions, contributing to fostering a spirit of self-reliance and entrepreneurship among young people.
From 2017 to the present, Mr. Mai Van Dan has had 8 innovative initiatives recognized, including 2 recognized at the provincial level. In 2025, he continues to propose initiatives to improve the effectiveness of the "Youth for Community Life" movement, with a youth-centered approach and strong application of digital technology to spread charitable activities.
Mr. Mai Van Dan shared: “For me, working with the Youth Union is a journey full of emotions and responsibilities. What makes me happiest is seeing the spirit of dedication and solidarity of young people spreading further, contributing to making our homeland better and better.”

Nguyen Thi Thanh Long, Secretary of the An Hai Ward Youth Union, is also a prominent figure with many outstanding contributions to youth union work and community activities. In the voluntary blood donation movement, Long mobilized hundreds of young people in the area to participate in humanitarian blood donation; she herself has donated blood 13 times to save lives. In 2025, she mobilized organizations and philanthropists to jointly repair two houses, helping disadvantaged families to have stable living conditions.
In the work of building the Youth Union organization and developing the Party, Nguyen Thi Thanh Long pays special attention to identifying and nurturing outstanding Youth Union members. In 2025, the An Hai Ward Youth Union introduced 215 outstanding individuals to the Party for consideration of admission, resulting in 80 Youth Union members joining the Party ranks. This result demonstrates the important role of the Youth Union organization in creating a source of young cadres for the grassroots political system.
One of Ms. Long's notable achievements is the implementation of the "Building a Youth Skills Training Ecosystem" initiative in 2025. Through this model, skills clubs have been established in all junior and senior high schools in the ward, creating an environment for regular training and giving students the opportunity to develop skills and a sense of responsibility towards the community.
In addition, the "Peaceful School Gate" model, implemented by Thanh Long in 22 schools in the area, has contributed to reducing traffic congestion and ensuring the safety of students during peak hours, receiving high praise from parents and schools.
Under the leadership of Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Long, volunteer activities for the community were enthusiastically implemented by the youth of An Hai, attracting a large number of union members and young people to participate. At the end of 2025, the Ward Youth Union organized the "Warm Winter in the Highlands" program, donating hundreds of gifts to students and disadvantaged people in Avuong commune, Tay Giang district.
“Participating in youth union activities is an opportunity for me to learn, train, and grow. Seeing my work receive the support of union members and young people, and spreading throughout the community, gives me even more motivation to continue striving in the future,” Thanh Long confided.
Relatable initiatives
Over the years, Le Vien Thanh, Secretary of the Hoa Cuong Ward Youth Union, has been known for many outstanding initiatives that have contributed to improving the effectiveness of youth union work and youth movements. Prominent among these is the "Books in Hand - Knowledge Delivered Immediately" model, which Vien Thanh launched in 2025.
Accordingly, the Ward Youth Union encouraged students from various schools to donate the books they had read. Periodically, the Ward Youth Union organized a book exchange day for members and students to share and exchange books with each other, thereby fostering a reading habit and expanding knowledge among young people. Previously, Mr. Thanh had the initiative to "Use QR codes to receive materials at conferences," which helped save costs, reduce the amount of printed paper, and create convenience for attendees.
In addition, Mr. Thanh actively organizes many volunteer activities for the community. For example, during the natural disaster in October 2025, the youth of Hoa Cuong ward participated in the "Quang Trung Campaign," providing labor to repair houses for affected households in Gia Lai province. These days of volunteer work left many positive impressions on the people, demonstrating the spirit of sharing of the youth with their compatriots in difficult areas. In 2025, the ward's Youth Union mobilized 166 units of blood, contributing to supporting the treatment of patients.
In the work of building the Youth Union organization and developing the Party, Mr. Thanh paid special attention to identifying and nurturing outstanding Youth Union members. In 2025, the Ward Youth Union introduced 155 members to participate in the Party membership orientation class, of which 63 outstanding members were admitted to the Party. In addition, the Ward Youth Union always paid attention to political and ideological education for young Youth Union members, contributing to raising the awareness and political fortitude of the younger generation.
“For me, every youth union activity must first and foremost stem from the practical needs of young people and bring value to the community. In the future, I will continue to work with the Ward Youth Union Executive Committee to innovate methods and organize more practical models to attract young people to participate and contribute to the development of the locality,” said Thanh.

The above examples are three of the 100 Youth Union officials nationwide who were honored with the "Ly Tu Trong Award" by the Central Committee of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union on the occasion of the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Ho Chi Minh Communist Youth Union (March 26, 1931 - March 26, 2026). This is a prestigious award given to outstanding Youth Union officials who have made significant contributions to Youth Union work and youth movements.
