Following the guidance of the officers from the 799th Economic and National Defense Brigade, Mr. Thanh built a barn to raise his cows in confinement instead of the previous practice of letting them roam freely, and also planted elephant grass to ensure a steady supply of feed. As a result, the mother cows are always healthy and have recently given birth to another calf. Meeting with us, Mr. Thanh happily shared: “The officers from the Economic and National Defense Brigade provided guidance on vaccination techniques and even supported us with disease prevention medication, so both the mother cows and the calf are in excellent health.”

According to Colonel Nguyen Dinh Duy, Secretary of the Party Committee and Political Commissar of the 799 Economic and National Defense Brigade: In recent years, the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Brigade's command, along with the Party committees and commanders of agencies and units, have implemented mass mobilization work in ethnic minority areas with many practical and effective policies, measures, and models. The Brigade directs its working groups and teams to closely monitor the area, simultaneously developing economic projects and carrying out mass mobilization work, promoting the role and responsibility of cadres and Party members according to the "four together" principle: eating together, living together, working together, and speaking the ethnic language together; and at the same time, providing hands-on guidance to help people gradually rise out of poverty sustainably.

From 2019 to the present, strictly adhering to the directives of higher authorities, the 799th Economic and Defense Brigade has organized many vibrant emulation movements: "The 799th Economic and Defense Brigade joins forces to build new rural areas," and "The 799th Economic and Defense Brigade joins hands for the poor, leaving no one behind." Through these efforts, the Brigade has supported over 300 families (each family receiving one breeding cow); nearly 100 households have received support for breeding black pigs; and nearly 200 households have received support with seedlings (anise, cinnamon, cypress) along with planting and care techniques to develop their economy. The Brigade's officers and soldiers have also contributed thousands of man-days to help people overcome the consequences of storms, floods, and natural disasters; and constructed over 20km of rural roads, facilitating travel, trade, and the exchange of goods. They constructed irrigation works to serve production, along with many water supply projects and reservoirs to serve the people in various residential areas. In particular, through the "Army Officers and Soldiers Helping Children Go to School" Project, officers, Party members, and agencies and units of the 799th Economic and National Defense Brigade have supported hundreds of poor students, with an average support of approximately 7.4 million VND per student per year.

The concrete and practical actions, along with the effective economic models of the officers and soldiers of the 799 Economic and Defense Brigade, have been spreading strongly, contributing to changing the backward and inefficient farming practices of the people; helping the people in the difficult border areas of Cao Bang province to rise out of poverty and gradually build a prosperous and sustainable life.
