While using Gmail for both personal and work purposes, many people may find it difficult to set up a signature within the application.

Gmail will eventually sync email signatures across the web when replying from mobile devices.

Email signatures are an important part of allowing users to quickly add personal information to emails or replies. Typically, users have a signature set for work accounts, including their name, title, preferred pronoun, and other contact information. Many organizations also require employees to adhere to a specific signature format.

Although setting up a signature on Gmail via the web is quite simple, it doesn't synchronize with the mobile app, causing considerable inconvenience for users. If users want to reply to emails from their phone, they have to set up the signature in the mobile app. Furthermore, the established signature doesn't automatically transfer to new devices, meaning users have to remember to set it up again every time they switch phones.

Setting up a Gmail signature on mobile is no longer a hassle.

However, according to an announcement from the Workspace blog, Google has improved the email signature experience. From now on, if users haven't set up a mobile signature in the Gmail app on Android, the signature from the web version will be automatically inserted when composing emails. This signature will support images, logos, and text formatting, just like when sending from Gmail on the web.

If users don't want to use a web signature on their Android device, they need to set up a mobile signature. Without a web signature, users won't have a mobile signature either.

This change will be available to all Google Workspace customers, Workspace Individual subscribers, and users of individual Google accounts. The rollout is reportedly complete for iOS devices and is beginning for Android.

Overall, the new feature improves the Gmail user experience because users can now easily create signatures on their desktop computers without worrying about resetting them on mobile devices. This also means users only need to change their signature in one place, instead of updating it across multiple devices.
