Around 2:30 PM on June 12th, US time (early morning of June 13th, Vietnam time), users worldwide began experiencing widespread disruptions affecting many popular internet platforms. Among the affected services were Google (including Google Cloud, Gmail, Google Meet), Discord, Spotify, Twitch, character.ai, Nintendo Switch Online, and dozens of others.
According to Down Detector, some services began to recover after about an hour of disruption, but access issues continued in many places. Reports from users on social media platform X indicate widespread disruptions that significantly impacted daily activities, especially during work hours.

A series of platform crashes caused chaos in the internet community.
One of the causes of this widespread outage may be related to key network infrastructure platforms such as Cloudflare and Google Cloud. Specifically, Cloudflare – a company specializing in CDN and internet security services – announced on its website a "widespread Cloudflare service outage." In its latest update, the company stated that it is seeing signs of recovery, but interruptions are still occurring due to the system having to reprocess accesses and fill up the cache.
Meanwhile, the Google Cloud Platform (GCP) status page clearly states: "Many GCP products are experiencing service issues." This information reinforces the suspicion that this outage is not simply a disruption from individual services, but rather stems from a widespread infrastructure problem.

The services were inaccessible for more than an hour.
Below is a list of platforms that recorded a large number of bug reports from users on Down Detector as of 2:35 AM on June 13th, Vietnam time: Discord, Google (including Google Cloud, Gmail, Google Meet, and other services), Spotify, Twitch, character.ai, Rocket League, Cloudflare, Etsy, Pokémon Trading Card Game, Snapchat, fuboTV, Anthropic (developer of the Claude chatbot), Shopify, Gemini, MLB.tv, Doordash, kea, Equifax, Marvel, Vimeo, Nintendo Switch Online, Gitlan, Calendly...

Experts believe that when platform services like Google Cloud, Cloudflare, or Shopify experience problems, it triggers a chain reaction affecting numerous applications and websites that depend on them. This explains why users on a large scale are simultaneously impacted in this way.
Notably, there were initial reports suggesting that Amazon Web Services (AWS) was also affected by this incident. However, according to an official response from AWS representatives sent to Mashable, there are currently no issues with their service.
The incident continues to attract significant attention from the global technology community and internet users. The service providers involved are still investigating the cause and working to mitigate the consequences. This is an incident of unprecedented scale, highlighting the increasing dependence of the digital ecosystem on a few key infrastructure providers.
