In the early days of the rainy season, Su Thien Chieu street in the neighborhood has become cleaner and more beautiful after being upgraded and repaired. People no longer have to wade through puddles of standing water, a result of the collective efforts of the residents, philanthropists, and especially the dedicated campaigning of Mr. Danh Tam.

The residents of the neighborhood still remember those afternoons after work when Mr. Danh Tam would go to each household along the road to chat and encourage everyone to contribute to repairing the road. Those who could afford it contributed materials, while those who were less fortunate contributed their labor. Some discussions lasted until dusk, because, according to him, to gain people's consensus, one must first listen to their concerns. Thanks to his reputation in the community, he mobilized more than 150 bags of cement from benefactors and hundreds of days of labor from local residents to complete the project.
During the days of concreting, residents often saw Mr. Tam present from early morning, checking materials with the villagers, encouraging each group of workers, and then staying until the end of the day to inspect each completed section of the road. Mr. Danh Vuong, a retired official in the neighborhood, shared: “Before, every time it rained, the road would flood, making it very difficult for people to get around, especially the elderly and students. When Mr. Tam took the initiative to mobilize people to repair the road, everyone agreed and supported him. Mr. Tam both mobilized materials and directly supervised and encouraged people to participate in the construction. Now, the road is clear, clean, and beautiful, and the people are very happy.”
Mr. Danh Tam also devoted much effort to social welfare work and caring for the lives of the people. As the head of the neighborhood, he always stayed close to the community, regularly understanding the circumstances of each household to promptly propose appropriate support solutions. Many residents said that when someone in the neighborhood faced difficulties or illness, he always made time to visit, inquire about their well-being, and find ways to connect them with support from the local authorities and philanthropists. Currently, the neighborhood has only 1 poor household, accounting for 0.19%; and 5 near-poor households, accounting for 0.98%. Mr. Vien Chi Thanh, a resident of the neighborhood, said: “What I appreciate most about Mr. Tam is his closeness and willingness to listen to the opinions of the people. He cares for households in difficult circumstances, mobilizes support resources, and thanks to that, the lives of the people are becoming more stable.”
As the Party Branch Secretary of the neighborhood, Mr. Danh Tam consistently maintains regular Party branch meetings, strictly adheres to the principle of democratic centralism, and promotes self-criticism and criticism. In 2025, the neighborhood Party Branch had no Party members violating discipline; 100% of Party members successfully completed their tasks, with many achieving outstanding results. Ms. Huynh Thi Thu Mai, Head of the Neighborhood Front Committee, stated: “Mr. Danh Tam is responsible and always exemplary in all his work. He always practices what he preaches, thus fostering trust and unity among cadres, Party members, and the people. As a result, many local movements and campaigns have achieved good results.”
For many years, Mr. Danh Tam has consistently been recognized as an outstanding Party member; he has earned the trust of the people and is considered a respected figure among ethnic minority communities. He has also received numerous commendations from the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religions and the People's Committee of the ward. The Party branch and the neighborhood leadership team have also been recognized for outstanding performance for many years. Mr. Danh Tam said: “Working at the grassroots level, the greatest joy is when the people wholeheartedly support my efforts and their requests are gradually resolved. I strive to be close to the people, listen to them, and work with them to build a cleaner, more beautiful, and more compassionate neighborhood.”
